The conclusion of Infinity Ward’s ambitious reboot of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare teased an exciting future for the franchise, knowingly winking at players with the brief mention of ‘Task Force 141’ and how iconic such an ensemble has become in the annals of gaming history. So I sat there in eager excitement, ready for whatever the blockbuster franchise might throw at me next. Unfortunately, my enthusiasm was dashed when Activision began dumping the likes of Ghost, Captain Price, and other elements of the campaign into the newly released Call of Duty: Warzone....

While Call of Duty: Warzone is easily dominated by SMGs, Assault Rifles, and Snipers, some fans have taken towards dual-wielding pistols for defense. What handguns lack in range they make up for in damage, speed, and mobility, and players who wield two can gain the same benefits twice. Call of Duty: Warzone fans are wielding a new combination as many consider the Magnum Pistol the best handgun combo to duel-wield in the battle royale environment....

The giant Halloween update has come to Call of Duty: Warzone, and it of course brings with it some new bugs for players to navigate. Unfortunately, this bug might be one of the worst that players have encountered. It seems that many players are experiencing their visuals going completely black, only showing their mini-map as the Call of Duty: Warzone players try to fight off enemy players and zombies. The Halloween celebration has brought a ton of new content to Warzone....

The extra teaser page that launched for Call of Duty 2020 has received two updates since its appearance. The main website has been hosting VHS tapes of famous historical moments driving the Call of Duty community towards several in-game puzzles. As players continue to solve the riddles, the pawntakespawn website page titled “11th Hour” seems to be updated in response. The 11th Hour webpage originally only displayed an ominous green note and another cipher....

Ubisoft has announced that the first major expansion for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla finally has an official release date. The company had previously announced plans for future downloadable content, both free and paid, before the launch of the game last fall. Now, the official release date for the first of two substantial expansions, titled Wrath of the Druids, will be releasing on April 29. Up until now, all of the post-release content has primarily consisted of patches, bug fixes, and limited-time free events such as the December-themed Yule Festival....

In yet another blow to the tragic tale of Balan Wonderworld, it seems like one of the game’s tracks has been found to plagiarise from the Ghostbusters theme. The track in question is from Chapter 11, Act 2 and is called “The Firefighter with Heroic Aspirations”. When you hear “Ghostbusters theme” you might think of the iconic Ray Parker Jr. track, but the track in questions is actually the main theme composed by Elmer Bernstein....

Baldur’s Gate 3 provides players with a number of difficult choices as they play through the game. For the most part, these choices affect story outcomes or other characters’ opinions of the player, but some can change the lives of NPCs in the world. Shadowheart is one such NPC whose livelihood depends entirely on the player’s decisions. Throughout their time with Baldur’s Gate 3, Shadowheart will present herself as a potential party member several times....

The Githyanki race of Baldur’s Gate 3 may not be as familiar as elves and dwarves to some players, but their place in the game and its events is important. The githyanki have a long history tied directly to the chief antagonists of the game, the Mind Flayers. These warriors aren’t quite as well known as some of the more typical fantasy races, but their role and history within The Forgotten Realms of Dungeons and Dragons are considered quite compelling for some DnD fans....

In retrospect, it’s pretty ironic that Warner Bros. Discovery shelved the Batgirl movie after it had already finished principal photography in order to claim a $90 million tax write-off. Because if the precipitous drop of the media company’s stock options are any indication, the bad publicity they generated has cost the studio far more. Yet more than just media bookkeeping, the death of Batgirl is also a small tragedy for the folks who worked on the movie: directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah whose career was on the rise after 2020’s early (and only) box office sleeper hit, Bad Boys for Life; Brendan Fraser whose career is on the verge of a major renaissance with all the Oscar buzz generated by his new movie The Whale, which received standing ovations at Venice and Toronto; and perhaps most especially Leslie Grace, a Latina actress who shined like a light in last year’s In the Heights and who was about to lead a superhero movie that would’ve changed her life....

Who knew that one of the most popular gaming trends in 2020 would be co-op experiences? Sure, they have been around for a while. Nevertheless, this year things seem to be on the upswing with exceptional co-op gaming experiences. From Sign of Silence to more mainstream experiences like the new Secret Neighbor, the group gaming experience is on the rise. However, two of the most popular are Among Us and Phasmophobia....

Black Desert Mobile just got a new patch rife with new content, events, bug fixes, and overall improvements. A big part of the new content is the World Boss, Enraged Red Nose — but there’s also new gear materials dropped by World Bosses, new rankings, and new items called Abyssal Lightstones. The new World Boss is a continuation on Red Nose, one of the first bosses players must battle when they’re leveling up....

Black Myth: Wukong might just be China’s very first AAA premium game, and it looks sweet. Wukong is a popular guy these days. No sooner do we get an announcement from a Spanish studio making a Monkey King game do we get another, even bigger announcement from Chinese developer Game Science. A 13-minute long gameplay demo for Black Myth: Wukong shows that China is finally ready for the AAA premium game market....

There are lots of jobs to choose between when it comes to Bravely Default 2, so you can pick and choose the best roles for your characters and create a powerhouse party. The Destiny Content Vault has generally been the fate for Destiny 2’s older, less-used content. These former zones will either be lost to the sands of time or eventually come back in a revamped form, which is the hope for areas like Mars, Titan, and Jupiter. But the Destiny Content Vault doesn’t mean that every location in Destiny 2 is a well-traveled path. If you’ve ever played an online multiplayer session of a game, there’s a good chance that you’ve run into a player who does their level best to ruin everyone else’s fun.
