Considering 7 years passed between Borderlands 2 and Borderlands 3, there’s not much point in fans holding their breaths for the next game. Instead, Borderlands 3’s DLC is adding new levels of longevity to the game with new Takedowns, events, and more. Each story DLC adds new grinds, new legendaries to loot (Bounty of Blood included), and so much more⁠—in many ways, bigger than Borderlands 2. That said, given the popularity of the franchise, a new Borderlands game will likely happen eventually....

The new Sins Rising arc is certainly a moving story for Peter Parker and his cohorts, whether it’s his Spider-themed amazing friends or his merry cast of side characters. Nielsen Media Research has published its annual Nielsen Game Rank survey, which reveals the most anticipated video game releases for holiday 2017. As is typical, Activision’s Call of Duty series is on track to maintain its holiday sales dominance, with Call of Duty: WW2 named the most anticipated multi-platform game of the season. PlayStation owners will have their first chance to try Call of Duty: Vanguard during a public alpha test this weekend that’s open to PS5 and PS4 players. The alpha will focus on Champion Hill, a new multiplayer mode that’s described as “a mix of battle royale plus Gunfight with progression happening between each of the rounds.” Champion Hill, which can be played as 2v2 or 3v3, sees teams compete in tournament-style deathmatch rounds on a map split up into five sections, including a Buy Station Area at the center where players can upgrade their loadouts, buy Perks, new weapons and equipment, and more....

Battleborn, the hero shooter from Borderlands developer Gearbox Software, has just gone free-to-play but the game is still struggling to attract players. Battleborn got off to a rocky start when it was released last year as the game launched alongside Blizzard’s rival multiplayer game, Overwatch. Yesterday, Gearbox announced plans to make Battleborn partly free-to-play. This “free downloadable experience” allows players to play as six of the game’s characters out of 30 (they are rotated each week) and offers no time limits or level caps as they advance through the ranks of its competitive multiplayer....

Marvel Snap is the perfect gateway drug for CCG fans who find Hearthstone too intimidating and in-person Magic: The Gathering tournaments can be too…well…you know. Snap is easy to learn, quick to play, and the game’s “escape” feature and limited, but charming, emoji palette keep the leveling grind refreshingly non-toxic.
