October was a massive month for games, with major new titles like Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey, Black Ops 4, and Red Dead Redemption 2 all competing for gamers’ wallets throughout the month. Just about everything released last month was highly-anticipated, and gamers definitely proved their enthusiasm by spending a jaw-dropping $1.5 billion on games and hardware last month alone, but which game earned the biggest piece of that pie? Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 was the highest selling game last month, which shouldn’t come as a big surprise....

When you really think about it, American football is the ultimate real-time strategy game. You have a squad of units with specific functions, an enemy team, and an objective that needs to be captured in order to score. So, taking football, and turning it into a full-on RTS game complete with bloody battles and orcs is kind of a logical next step. Over the past week, Destiny 2 players have been working on powering up their Solstice of Heroes armor through various tiers. This week, the United States Space Force revealed that it had selected the term Guardians to refer to its uniformed members. Naturally, the announcement caught the attention of Destiny fans, considering the similarities in that the main characters in this franchise are also called Guardians and have a long history of spacefaring adventures through the Milky Way Galaxy. There were more than a few replies to the reveal tweet referencing the game and the characters involved in this world....

After weeks of speculation that Microsoft could acquire the US operations of social media platform TikTok from ByteDance, the issue can now be put to bed. In an announcement made by Microsoft via social media, the company confirmed that TikTok rejected Microsoft’s offer. It’s unclear if TikTok continues to pursue the sale of its US operations or if it’s now going to test how far US President Donald Trump is willing to take his promise to ban the company in the country....
