But that’s just what publisher Bethesda Softworks decided to do with their upcoming survival horror title The Evil Within. They have pushed the game forward from October 21st to…October 14th. Wait, that can’t be right....
At the Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 reveal event last week, developer Treyarch confirmed that the game would not have a traditional single-player campaign. Instead, the game would focus on modes including the game’s traditional multiplayer as well as Zombies, and the battle royale mode Blackout. While many fans were glad to see the improvements to multiplayer, many others were disappointed that the game was ditching the expected story campaign....

Avalanche Studios has been behind a number of significantly popular games since it was founded in 2003, including Rage 2, Mad Max, and, most famously, the Just Cause series. The team has always been a big name in the open-world action scene, developing chaotic titles that allow the player to wreak havoc in enormous locations. It seems one of their latest titles was slated to push that reputation to its limits, with writer Mikael Säker talking in an interview with YouTube’s Wassup Conversations about an alternate history action game that was in development at Avalanche....

After more than a decade, the Half-Life remake Black Mesa finally released in a 1.0 state. Its developer, Crowbar Collective, originally started the project shortly after Half-Life 2’s release, but the remake wasn’t considered official until Valve allowed it on Steam in 2015. Since then, fans have been waiting eagerly to step back into the shoes of series protagonist Gordon Freeman and relive his opening hours. After finally unveiling the game we all knew about for a very long time with a pleasantly surprising gameplay trailer set in the future during the NBA playoffs last night, Activision has lifted the embargo on outlets who had a chance to preview the game at developer Treyarch’s offices recently. We’ve already discussed Black Ops 2’s overhauled zombies mode, the game’s future setting, its changing graphics and plans for the PC version, pre-order goodies, etc....
Blackout mode is the unique take by Treyarch on the battle royale trend in gaming. Up to 88 players go head to head to be the last survivor as the circle closes with zombies haunting parts of the map. Since the game’s beta release there have been some primary weapons that commonly see themselves in the hands of the winners and some that are found in the cold dead grasp of the unfortunate souls who died early on....
