We love a good role-playing game, we really do - being able to slip into the guise of a new character, whether it’s one you’ve created yourself or not, is a real treat. The best examples let you explore a new world and get to grips with interesting systems and quests, too. There have been countless superb RPGs during the life-cycle of the Xbox One and its variants, and while the Series X and Series S are on the scene now to usher in a new generation, that doesn’t change the fact that there are some classics to enjoy on the older hardware....

Developer Treyarch uses Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 to pay homage to the Seattle Seahawks’ former running back Marshawn Lynch for his recent retirement. Considering Marshawn Lynch’s turn as a villain in Treyarch’s Call of Duty: Black Ops 3, the video game developer decided it would pay tribute to the popular Seattle Seahawks’ running back’s retirement in the first-person shooter’s multiplayer map Combine. Interestingly enough, the nod is subtle, as the studio decided to make several changes to some of the lab numbers in the level by altering them to reflect Lynch’s NFL jersey number of 24, and his University of California, Berkeley number of 10....

A couple of days ago, Ninja Theory’s Bleeding Edge leaked online. And now the game has been officially confirmed, serving as one of the first games Xbox revealed at its E3 2019 press conference. The Bleeding Edge trailer shown at E3 2019 is the same trailer that leaked a couple of days ago, albeit in much higher quality than the leaked footage. For those unfamiliar with the game, Bleeding Edge is a 4v4 online multiplayer game starring a cast of unique characters that brings to mind titles like Overwatch....

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night director Koji Igarashi discusses the reasons for the game’s delay and how the postponement affects its status as a Wii U title. For those unaware, at the beginning of September this year, Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night, the successfully funded Kickstarter project from Castlevania: Symphony of the Night creator and director Koji Igarashi, received a delay pushing it back into 2018. While the developer didn’t announce an exact release date, Igarashi did declare his intentions behind the delay as a means to get it “done right the first time” before needing to apologize to all backers and fans....

Following Gearbox Software’s recent panel at PAX East 2019, it’s safe to presume that there are plenty of Borderlands fans pining away for the first-person shooter series’ forthcoming installment, with Borderlands 3 set to release this September. The Call of Duty: Vanguard open beta is here!
