We’ve all seen trailers that begin like this. Before even the studio’s title card shows up on screen, we hear the first bars of a popular song from roughly 30-40 years ago. Instantly, we know that an indie dramedy with big stars is about to introduce itself. There will be drama, of course, and there will be conflict, surely, but as the familiar refrains of a beloved chorus rises, we’re already subliminally conditioned to expect a happy outcome for the star in question....

In a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it moment, the popular AMC TV series Better Call Saul featured a small nod to Grand Theft Auto. In the episode “Bagman,” there’s a quick reference to one of Grand Theft Auto’s most iconic vehicles, though it’s so fast and so subtle that it would easily be missed by fans. The vehicle in question is the Bravado Banshee, one of Grand Theft Auto 5’s famous cars. The Banshee had been created as a part of a GameStop competition during Grand Theft Auto 5’s launch in 2013, though the vehicle has since made its way into the hands of collectors at the Flat 12 gallery....

Black Mirror’s latest release, the Bandersnatch special event, is now available and offers Netflix viewers a Black Mirror experience unlike any others. The tech-horror series has incorporated video games into its plot in the past, but this is the first time viewers are actually able to interact with the episode and directly impact the outcome of the self-contained story. Warning: Bandersnatch Spoilers ahead… Like most choose your own adventure style narratives, Bandersnatch has many branching story paths and tons of different endings....

Bloober Team’s The Medium is one of the most anticipated games of Q1 2021 - with particular interest circling the game’s Dual-Reality. In anticipation of its January 28 release, the developer posted a video composing nine facts about its development, and one suggested that its narrative is set in the same world as Observer. The Polish developer shared a video detailing nine “uncanny” facts about the game presented by Michal Napora of the community team....

The Metroidvania genre has seen something of a Renaissance of late, punctuated by a game that’s a direct “spiritual successor” to Castlevania, ArtPlay’s Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night. It should be no surprise then, that Castlevania series producer Koji Igarashi is behind Bloodstained, an action-adventure that captures much of the spirit of that classic. The game also comes with a similar level of depth and difficulty, resulting in a grueling experience that can be overwhelming to newcomers....

Not that long ago, Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford floated the idea on his Twitter of a second year of DLC for Borderlands 3. The wording suggested that nothing serious was involved and that it may not reflect the first year of DLC, but many were indubitably excited. This actually caused a resurgence in Borderlands 3 fans asking for Vault Hunter DLC, but it seems that Gearbox has opted for the next best thing instead....

Just a couple of days ago, Activision and Treyarch teased which killstreaks will be in the beta for the forthcoming first-person shooter Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, leaving many to wonder what other features and content will be available during the test. Now, the publisher and developer have decided to give fans a closer look at the multiplayer beta by releasing a new trailer detailing what players should expect to encounter during the trial run of the game....

A free trial for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War’s multiplayer is now live to mark the start of Season 3, and will run until April 28th. As outlined on the Call of Duty blog, console and PC players could jump into the trial from April 23 until it ends April 28 at 10:00 PT. The multiplayer trial has a host of different modes for players to try, including 16 different multiplayer maps, 4 multiteam maps and 6 gunfight maps....

A new trailer for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare multiplayer dropped this morning. It previews the combat, plus reveals some details about the recently announced killstreaks. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, in development by Infinity Ward, is coming on October 25th. While the game will feature a campaign this time around, the new trailer focuses on the multiplayer. The gameplay footage gives players a look at the new killstreaks that will be featured in the game, including the Juggernaut, which provides the player with special combat gear, and the Infantry Assault Vehicle, which allows you to drive a tank around the map....

So far, all we’ve seen of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is the campaign mode, but that is set to change later this week at E3 when the game is showcased as part of an E3 Coliseum event. It’s possible that this event will give fans their first look at Call of Duty: Modern Warfare’s multiplayer, as well as its co-op mode, which has now been revealed to be the returning Spec Ops from past Modern Warfare games....

Call of Duty: Warzone has received a new patch, providing fixes to issues caused by the game’s integration with Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. Fans of Call of Duty: Warzone have made notice of one specific fix, however, as Raven Software has announced the removal of the game’s consistently annoying tactical glitch. Also known as the infinite stim glitch, the bug plagued Call of Duty: Warzone players shortly after the game released, reappearing multiple times throughout its life cycle....

As time goes on, Call of Duty: Warzone players have been finding plenty of unintended ways to get a leg-up on the competition, whether it be spray-painting their opponents in the Gulag or glitching into walls to shoot through them. And now players have discovered that a skin for one of the game’s weapons makes the gun far more powerful than normal. The weapon in question, the EBR-14 marksman rifle, was added to Warzone back in late March, and while many consider it a strong choice for dealing constant pressure from a distance, it’s far from the game’s hardest-hitting long-range firearm....

Call of Duty: Warzone has taken its place in the battle royale genre. It can make for some exhilirating moments, as well as truly frustrating failures. It also gives an advantage to PC players, along with other things that make it a mixed bag. The biggest problems in Call of Duty: Warzone right now are almost all glitches. Everything from slithering like a snake to flying choppers through the map has appeared at some point....

The latest update for Call of Duty: Warzone is out, and players are already aligned on what they love and hate about the changes. Season 4 Reloaded added new cosmetics, nerfed some weapons, and added a new sniper and recon tool for players to try out. What seems to be the most discussed among fans, however, is the new 200 player Quads mode. Warzone’s latest update added 50 players to the Quads mode, where players can group up in teams of four....

In early April, Infinity Ward was proudly stating through social media that it has “zero tolerance” for cheaters in Call of Duty: Warzone and Modern Warfare, touting the banning of over 50,000 accounts worldwide. Since then, they have been virtually silent on the subject outside of a few select comments, and more and more it feels as though the cheaters are running wild and unchecked in both modes of the game....

Call of Duty: WW2 may feature just 10 multiplayer maps at launch, if rumored hidden menus within the PC open beta’s client are to be believed. A Redditor named Trevormine posted a series of screenshots taken from what he claims was a “bugged” menu list. The open beta client apparently bugged as Trevormine exited a match and attempted to load into a new map. He was then able to access a “Map Select” menu that showed 10 total maps....

The next Call of Duty game is coming soon, but if it is to be a success, Treyarch will need to pull out all the stops to satisfy fans. This year has been a tumultuous one to say the least, both in and out of gaming, but the unveiling of the next generation consoles and the spike in quality of games is making it clear that gamers won’t settle for less anymore....

One of the most popular exploits in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare are those that allow players to glitch inside of other objects or buildings. Infinity Ward is usually quick to patch these problems, but one unlucky fan has become the victim once again to a “fixed” exploit. Large maps are expected to be filled with tons of holes, problems, and exploits when they launch. Fans are getting concerned when months later, issues that were patched reappear causing game-breaking results in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare matches....
