There are multiple Call of Duty games with active playerbases right now, and these games continue to see fresh content from developers. A recent Call of Duty: Warzone Season 2 update set internet usage records because so many players downloaded it, and Call of Duty: Mobile just released its Season 2 Day of Reckoning update as well. The Call of Duty franchise is huge, but it has been notably absent from the esports scene for much of its existence....

A new legendary character skin has been teased by Call of Duty Mobile via its official Twitter handle. The image shows a large man kneeling and chained in front of a dark tunnel. The metallic skull mask on his face confirms that the character is none other than Mace. “Chained… and enraged. A legend imprisoned..” reads the caption along with the image. This legendary skin features Mace in heavy armour with glowing red lines....

Call of Duty: Vanguard, the latest installment in the long-running shooter series, launches this week, with a new story campaign, multiplayer, and Zombies mode, but you won’t have to wait until the release date to experience part of one of these components. The first hours of Vanguard‘s campaign have already leaked on YouTube, as discovered on a Reddit thread. The footage introduces the fictional multinational special ops task force sent into enemy territory to stop Nazi Germany’s plans in the final days of World War II....

Minecraft’s Herobrine legend belongs to a long list of internet creepypastas. Involved in a prank from a streamer named Copeland in 2010, Herobrine has been notoriously noted as having a horrifying presence in-game. Yet, according to Prima Games, Herobrine has never actually been featured in the game. That is, despite all the rumors. The creepypasta itself has been perpetuated by many personal stories of how Herobrine would show up in their game, constructing trees without leaves and adding an overall creepy vibe to their world....

On May 18th, 2010, Alan Wake released as an Xbox 360 exclusive. Despite some flaws, the game has been critically acclaimed for its survival-horror gameplay and innovative, visceral storytelling techniques. Two years later, Alan Wake released on PC as well, expanding the audience for Remedy Entertainment’s creepy horror game considerably. A couple of months after that, Alan Wake’s American Nightmare released as a small, downloadable adventure. Tonally different from the first game, American Nightmare nonetheless received critical acclaim and strong sales....

Footage from the cancelled Halo Mega Bloks game surfaced online this weekend, in a video on game archivist and enthusiast Andrew Borman’s YouTube channel. From casual video game fans to experienced players, nearly everyone is familiar with Halo, one of Microsoft’s biggest and most successful game series. As with nearly all franchises of this scale and popularity, Halo has received multiple sequels, spin-off games, expansions and merchandise. Even nearly six years later, Skyrim continues to amaze us. There is so much to do and see that it is easy to miss or overlook something while you are out exploring. Unless you are a completionist, even after a hundred hours of gameplay, it is likely there is something in the game that you just haven’t gotten to yet. The developers at DICE provide details for the newest Custom Game in its first-person shooter Battlefield 1, and tease the game’s forthcoming February update. As many gamers would argue, Battlefield 1 handily earned its spot as one the top games of 2016, and now DICE is set to give the title loads of post-launch support in 2017 in order to keep fans coming back for more. Today, the developer revealed the details to a new Custom Game mode called Bleed Out that will be added to Battlefield 1, and gave a general overview of what’s to come in the road ahead with a brief glance at next month’s February update....

DICE reveals all upcoming multiplayer maps and provides a short description for each of the modes players will get to go hands-on with once Battlefield 1 launches. Battlefield 1 appears to be trending in a great direction after a largely successful open beta period that saw a staggering 13.2 million players try out the World War I-inspired shooter. Shockingly, this number even toppled the previous DICE record, held by Star Wars Battlefront, which saw 9 million players boot up during that beta period....
