Sorry, Left 4 Dead fans, but Back 4 Blood has been delayed. The announcement was made on Turtle Rock Studios’ Twitter feed earlier today, stating the team needs more time to get the Left 4 Dead successor ready for fall launch. “Turtle Rock Studios is working hard to make Back 4 Blood the best game it can possibly be at launch and the team needs more time to do this,” the developer wrote “Therefore, we will release Back 4 Blood on October 12, 2021....

With the release of Persona 5 Strikers right around the corner, fans may wonder what sort of surprise they will obtain as a reward for pre-ordering the game. This morning, it seems that their questions may have already been answered as collectors have something to look forward to next month. Traditionally, horror games have been strictly single-player or co-op experiences, rarely dipping their toe in the versus multiplayer space. In 2017, well after the 2010 release of StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty, Blizzard introduced War Chests to StarCraft II. These are seasonally available and battle pass-like in function, rewarding players with cosmetic upgrades as they’re leveled up. Unlike a traditional battle pass system, however, proceeds from each new War Chest help fund the StarCraft II World Championship Series each year. Last month, Blizzard began to detail its sixth War Chest and announced a new tournament that would be hosted in conjunction with the War Chest’s release....

As the old adage goes, all good things must come to an end. In a post on Twitter this morning, Bloodborne producer Teruyuki Toriyama announced that he would be leaving Sony’s JAPAN Studio at the end of the month, ending a storied career with the console manufacturer that includes credits in games such as FromSoftware’s masterpiece, Demon’s Souls, and Soul Sacrifice. In isolation, his departure is sad but understandable. Having worked on a lot of the same types of games for nearly a decade, Toriyama is likely looking for a new challenge in his career....

Even before its official launch, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is heating up. In the game’s beta, one streamer has already set the world record for kills. Call of Duty‘s Season 5 patch notes have finally arrived, and they reveal the full details for some of the most expansive Warzone updates yet. As we previously discussed, the biggest Warzone changes included with this patch involves the battle royale’s Verdansk map. Players will now be able to freely explore the map’s stadium (and associated nearby areas) now that its roof has been blown open, and there’s also now a train (and new accompanying train station) that runs across a track that sprawls throughout the map....
