In this week’s issue of Famitsu, game producer Tomoya Asano stated that he has a concept for Bravely Third, which would be the fourth entry in the series (not counting the browser and mobile spinoff games.) It’s a pretty bold statement, especially considering that Bravely Default 2 for the Switch doesn’t even have a concrete release date yet. It’s only slated for “some point in 2020.” Asano, known best for his work as a producer on the latest wave of new turn-based RPGs like the Bravely series and Octopath Traveler, indicates in the interview - translated in part here by Nintendo Everything - that he is open to having Bravely Third debut as a mobile game....

About a year ago, Square Enix announced its partnership with People Can Fly, the development studio behind the first-person shooter Bulletstorm, to reveal that the two were working together to create another new title in the coming years. Now, People Can Fly has decided to shed more light on the project by divulging the details that the forthcoming release from both of the companies is going to be a new “AAA shooter”....

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War has released a brand new map along with new items and opportunities for its Zombies experience. Among all the new content is a fan-requested update that will add some audio diversity to the game experience. Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War’s Zombie mode was innovative at launch, but now it seems to be building on that foundation and creating a more fulfilling zombie experience....

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is set to launch in about two weeks, and will serve as the long-running franchise’s debut on next-generation consoles. With today’s new update to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare comes the addition of an iconic piece of history from the series. Flaming throwing knives are finally making their way into the game as some of the best looking throwable items available. Acquiring the flaming throwing knives is only available through the purchase of the Pyromaniac bundle from the in-game store. The bundle features not only the knives, but also the Legendary Firestarter skin for Krueger, the Caldera Legendary scheme, an all new finisher, from the Fire Claw III category, and several cosmetics....

Call of Duty: Warzone has finally released a long-requested feature into its battle royale experience. While playing against 100 competing players can be an enjoyable time, players have been requesting private lobbies for quite a while. In the most recent Call of Duty: Warzone patch, players can finally start private lobbies. Keep in mind that the private lobbies option is only in beta. Players are able to organize large lobbies, assign squads of players, and have the tools for personal small-scale Warzone tournaments....

Professional Call of Duty: Warzone player NICKMERCS recently started his own tournament for the game called the MFAM Gauntlet Series. While this event has been impressive so far, boasting rewards valuing $50,000, Activision has decided to partner with NICKMERCS to up the ante, officially supporting the tournament in more ways than one. The MFAM Gauntlet Series is a reference to the streamer’s own community, the merc family, but has since grown into something more....

As a wave of news about the newly-revealed Call of Duty: WW2 begins to come flooding in, some new screenshots of in-game footage have been leaked from the game’s official site. The images were caught and quickly taken down, but not before they were saved and re-posted by fans online. Since yesterday’s reveal of the World War 2-themed shooter, we have been waiting eagerly to see what the Call of Duty franchise plans to do, in order to keep up with Battlefield 1’s rather dominant hold on the FPS industry....

Call Of Duty Zombies has a ton of history, with stories spanning multiple universes. Before Cold War, the stars of the show were Dempsey, Nikolai, Takeo, and Richtofen, who were also the characters people played as throughout the series. There are two separate versions of the characters, Primis and Ultimis. Ultimis was the first rendition of the characters, first appearing in World At War’s Shi No Numa before taking their exit in Tag der Toten along with their Primis counterparts....

Astralis has removed Jakob “JUGi” Hansen from its active CS:GO roster, the Danish esports organization announced today. The team also revealed that 22-year-old former MAD Lions star Lucas “Bubzkji” Andersen would take his place on the lineup. Bubzkji has taken a spot on the active roster while Lukas “gla1ve” Rossander and Andreas “Xyp9x” Højsleth remain on medical leave. Jakob “JUGi” Hansen has been playing under the Astralis name since May, after taking the place of long-time in-game leader Lukas “gla1ve” Rossander....

Returning 26 years after the prior entry in the series, Dlala Studio’s new take on Battletoads arrives on Xbox One and PC today, finally resurrecting Rare’s iconic franchise for modern audiences. Not only does the game have a brand new visual style, looking to replicate retro 90s cartoons, but it also features a series of retooled mini-games that take inspiration from the original series of games. However, there are likely many fans - both new and returning - who are interested to know how the franchise holds up after so many years lying dormant....

Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics’ Marvel’s Avengers is hitting PC and console on September 4th, and one word hangs around it like a bad smell: microtransactions. More or less every big-name title has them baked into their game nowadays, and Marvel’s Avengers is no different. The bulk of the game’s microtransactions revolve around cosmetics (shiny costumes, alternate looks, movie versus comic outfits, etcetera) and battle passes known as Hero Challenge Cards....

We are nearing the end of E3. Nintendo’s conference today is the final presentation. As always with the gaming event, many purported leaks and rumors have popped up. Earlier, Best Buy apparently listed the Nintendo Switch as being compatible with Netflix, Hulu, and YouTube. Hulu isn’t anything new, but Nintendo hasn’t announced Netflix or YouTube for the console. Although the listing has seemingly been removed on Best Buy’s site, a Reddit user named DevCakes took a screenshot, seen below....
