After the trailer was accidentally leaked a few days ago, Atlus has officially released the official trailer for the international version of Persona 5 Strikers. Many anime series are able to grab a hold of mainstream audiences, but the kind of attention that’s surrounded Attack on Titan is on a whole other level. The anime series only has three seasons, but it’s taken over seven years for it to reach its finish and the enthusiasm towards the property has never waned. Avatar: The Last Airbender and Avatar: The Legend of Korra had an insanely large cast between the two shows. Each managed an interesting set of protagonists, antagonists, and random lay-abouts, which all had different strengths, weaknesses, and special abilities. There was the quiet strength and wisdom of Iroh, a powerful firebender in his own right, helping to uplift his nephew to higher morals. On the opposite end of the spectrum, you have the barely noticeable Hahn whose failed elimination attempt on Admiral Zhao went so spectacularly poorly it was treated as a joke....

Avengers: Endgame currently holds the record as the biggest box office hit, but Avatar is once again creeping in with its Unobtainium head, thanks to China. The Hollywood Reporter is claiming that Avatar will be getting a re-release in China as the country’s Film Bureau has approved a screening starting Friday. It will be available in both IMAX and standard 3D. This piece of news wouldn’t otherwise be relatable to the West, but there’s been a constant push and pull to be the king of the box office....

Earlier this week, Fortnite developer Epic Games unveiled its rival to Steam, the Epic Games Store. In addition to free games for users, the storefront also offered benefits for developers including a better revenue share for game sales. At The Game Awards 2018, the first big Epic Games Store partnership was revealed. Supergiant Games, the studio behind Bastion, Transistor and, most recently, Pyre, announced a new game called Hades. The title is a hack-and-slash game of epic proportions, as players control the son of Hades, fighting through the underworld to get his freedom....

Microsoft’s acquisition of Bethesda and its parent company ZeniMax Media is already paying off. Microsoft wasted no time adding Doom Eternal to Game Pass, and now it seems it has some collections of Bethesda-published games in development for its Xbox Series X and S consoles. The ESRB has issued ratings for two separate collections of Bethesda-published games. The first is Dishonored & Prey: The Arkane Collection, and the second is the Wolfenstein Alt History Collection....

The game I’m playing right now takes place in a post-apocalyptic world where you’re mostly scrounging around for junk and then turning that junk into something useful, like weapons or armor. Occasionally, I’ll wander across an old-world vault and find some primo tech in there that’ll really up my arsenal. There’s the occasional puzzle game to break up the action, and there are a whole bunch of factions that I’ll need to either ally with or eventually eliminate....

BioWare had an exciting, yet challenging weekend with the release of Anthem’s VIP demo. Reception for the demo ranged between incredible frustration with the demo’s major bugs and errors to exhilaration, as fans were able to take flight across Anthem’s untamed world for the very first time. BioWare knows there’s a lot of work yet to be done, and has issued a community letter summarizing the weekend, going over its plans between now and Anthem’s mid-February launch....

Nightdive Studios is bringing back Blade Runner: Enhanced Edition just like they did Turok and System Shock. You could say that Nightdive is a retro gaming studio, but that’s not quite accurate. Rather than getting old games to work on old consoles, they’re trying to bring old games to the modern era to allow them to function on current hardware. Thanks to their KEX game engine, Nightdive has been extremely successful in updating old classics like Turok, Turok 2, and System Shock....

Blizzard has officially announced its next Hearthstone expansion, which will apparently be titled Journey to Un’Goro, contrary to earlier leaks. The expansion will add a total of 135 minions, spells, and other cards when it’s made available in early April. Journey to Un’Goro is set to introduce some new gameplay concepts to the ever-expanding library of cards that Hearthstone players have to choose from. Some existing minions will be given the Elemental type, which will offer synergies with some of the new cards set to be added to the game as part of the expansion....

Fans of old-school Blizzard games should get excited because an Arcade Collection has been rated. In the ramp up to BlizzCon 2021 later today, a leak has revealed an upcoming Blizzard title combining three classic games. Started back in 1991 under the name Silicon & Synapse, Inc. Blizzard has an extensive background in game making. While the group is now famous for major titles like World of Warcraft and the Diablo series, it has entries from as early as the 1990s....

Blizzard Entertainment has announced the cancellation of BlizzCon 2020, but some version of it may still happen online. Blizzard Entertainment, the video game developer behind the Diablo series and World of Warcraft, will officially be calling off their annual gaming convention, BlizzCon. The convention began in 2005 and has operated as many other cons have—announcing content, holding creator Q&As, giving previews for games to come, as well as having contests, and concerts....

Borderlands 3 players have been eager to get their hands on new content, and while Gearbox is working on new skill trees and a new game mode, a second run of the game’s Halloween event should help tide them over. Last week, Bloody harvest was confirmed to return to Borderlands 3, and the event officially kicked off today. Now going by the name Bloody Harvest Returns, the event will see the return of many features from its first appearance in Borderlands 3....

Running nearly four minutes long, there are so many hints and clues packed into this trailer that fans are having a field day processing it all. There are five recurring tenets which have defined The Legend of Zelda’s three decade long run: Link, Zelda herself, Ganon, Hyrule, and the Triforce. That said, there is one other piece of the series’ iconography that’s since taken on quite the life of its own– and quite literally at that. Armor has always played an interesting role in The Legend of Zelda. In the original Zelda, Link could find the Blue and Red Rings to increase his defense; Zelda II introduced a defense spell; and A Link to the Past featured two stronger Tunics in the vein of the Rings. Beyond a few other instances (lowered fire/ice resistance while wearing the Zora Tunic in Twilight Princess), armor has never had as much prominence as Link’s weapons in Zelda....

One of the weirdest games of 2020 was undoubtedly Bugsnax by Young Horses. For those who aren’t familiar with it, Bugsnax is essentially about muppet-like creatures called Grumpuses that live on an island populated by sentient food items - the titular Bugsnax. When the Grumpuses eat a Bugsnack, their body parts transform to look like the food item that they just ate. It’s a strange game, and there’s a chance more people will one day get a chance to see just how bizarre it all gets....
