The wait to see what Bungie would busy themselves with in the coming years has ended, having finally announced the setting and premise of Destiny. But despite the unveiling, the studio is playing their cards close to their chest; they’re not exactly new to this game, after all. With an open world as big as any on the market, a blend of always-on multiplayer interaction and cinematic campaign, and a story that remains a mystery to all but the developers, Bungie’s Joe Staten helps fans get an idea of what to expect from Destiny....

Destiny 2 developer Bungie used the beginning of its new stream about the game to share a message of support for Black Lives Matter. The stream, which was about the next chapter of the game, confirmed that the next Destiny 2 season will be the Season of Arrivals, among other major announcements. While today’s Destiny 2 stream was largely about exciting new things coming to the game, developer Bungie chose to start the event on a more somber note....

The annual Call of Duty franchise is back again this year, although the traditional formula that the series has lived by since its inception is going to be a bit different with this year’s game. One of Call of Duty: Warzone’s most unique and popular features is that of the Gulag, which gives players a second chance at winning the popular battle royale mode after they’ve died the first time. Avowed has many fans of The Elder Scrolls series hoping that Obsidian Entertainment could be developing the spiritual successor to Skyrim. The new game will be set in Obsidian’s world of Eora, first featured in the two Pillars of Eternity games. To step out from under Skyrim’s shadow, Avowed will not only need to deliver on the open-world first-person RPG formula fans have come to know from The Elder Scrolls games, but will need to give them some entirely unique and original experiences as well....

Everyone will have a chance to try out the latest game from Sonic the Hedgehog creator Yuji Naka next week, as a demo for Balan Wonderworld will be available on consoles and PC on January 28. Balan Wonderworld is an upcoming platform game by Yuji Naka, which will be his first title since leaving Sega for Square Enix in 2018. The player takes on the role of either Leo Craig or Emma Cole, as they enter the strange world of Wonderworld, led by the mysterious Maestro....

Larian Studios and Wizards of the Coast have teamed up to bring fans the long-awaited Baldur’s Gate 3, which hits Steam early access today. Over the weekend, I spent 18+ hours with a pre-release early access build of the game, and so far I’ve found this RPG sequel to be absolutely addicting. Even in early access, I’m really looking forward to sinking dozens upon dozens of more hours into Baldur’s Gate 3....

Video game publisher Electronic Arts officially reveals its post-launch sales predictions for the forthcoming World War I inspired shooter Battlefield 1. According to Electronic Arts’ latest earnings report for Quarter 1 of the Financial Year 2017, the publisher’s chief financial officer Blake Jorgensen revealed it has projected Battlefield 1 sales after launch will be “slightly under” what the first-person shooter franchise usually does on an annual basis. Even with that being the case, EA is confident that Battlefield 1 has the potential to go beyond its prediction....

Since the Back to Karkand DLC arrived arrived for Battlefield 3 not long after the game’s retail release, there has been no additional content for the popular shooter. Instead, developers at DICE have focused on updating the game to address player feedback in bugs. Next month that changes when Battlefield 3: Close Quarters releases to add four new maps, a new game mode and several new weapons. Close Quarters is part one of a three-stage release schedule for Battlefield 3 DLC, with ‘Armored Kill’ adding big maps and new vehicles in the fall and ‘End Game’ adding something we can only speculate upon in the winter....
