Astro’s Playroom developer Team Asobi announced that it is not only expanding but that it is also developing a brand new game. The announcement of its growth and next game came alongside a brand new logo as well as new social media channels. The team teased that its focus remains on “platformers that deliver that second-to-second joy.” With that, we at least know that whatever comes next will be a similar experience to the last two releases....

Top speedrunners have found ways to finish the game’s speedrun levels far faster than seemingly intended, clocking in times drastically lower than those of the average player. At first glance, Astro’s Playroom is a simple (albeit charming) 3D platformer starring Astro, the hero of well-received VR title Astro Bot Rescue Mission....

It’s been over a month since EA and DICE’s impressive looking shooter released and soon, the first DLC for Battlefield 3 will release. Titled ‘Back to Karkand,’ the Battlefield 3 content adds more than just maps, but vehicles, weapons and more. The four new locations are remakes of fan-favorite maps from the series so far and include: Strike at Karkand, Wake Island, Gulf of Oman and Sharqi Peninsula. We’ve seen the exciting Back to Karkand trailer and now, we have a new gameplay trailer specfically showcasing the Gulf of Oman map....
When Doom Eternal was announced a few years back, id Software raised some eyebrows when it stated there wouldn’t be any traditional multiplayer in the sequel. If there’s one thing the studio is known for, it’s popularizing deathmatch combat and including it in each of its titles. How could Eternal be forgoing a staple of the genre? In a new interview with Shacknews, Bethesda’s Pete Hines (VP of PR) was questioned about the lack of traditional multiplayer modes in Eternal and he gave a firm response....

Today is part two of DC Fandome, the massive online fan event celebrating the worlds of DC comics, film, and television. Black cinema legend Robert Townsend (who directed two episodes of Black Lightning) spoke with actors James Remar, Jordan Calloway, Marvin Krondon Jones III, Chrstine Adams, China Anne McClain, Nafessa Williams, and Cress Williams about the show and what they hope to see in the forthcoming season. Cress Williams, Black Lighting himself, wants to see a return to Jefferson Pierce in the school setting, and mentoring kids, citing the education aspect as one of the things he’s most proud of in the show....
It is no secret that Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 has been built off of the nostalgia associated with previous Black Ops installments. Blackout’s map is essentially a compilation of numerous fan favorite maps from early titles in the Black Ops series, and many of its characters first appeared in the earlier installments as well. Treyarch continues to follow suit as, just like in the previous Black Ops games, they have added a fan favorite map, Nuketown, to all platforms....
Yesterday, Bungie released patch 1.1.2 for Destiny, which welcomed a mass of bug fixes and tweaks such as more storage in the vault, exotic gear locks, and the ability for Guardians to wear their helmet in public spaces. The patch also laid some groundwork for next month’s House of Wolves expansion, however not without one noticeable caveat. Destiny gamers may have noticed something has been missing since the update, if they spent some time in Patrol in the Cosmodrome or the Moon....
Sometime before Ninja Theory’s team-based 4v4 brawler Bleeding Edge launched on March 24, the developer announced it would be adding new characters; specifically teasing a dolphin in a mech appropriately named Mekko. After putting the aquatic mammal on hold to fix more pressing issues players expressed about the game, the Bleeding Edge team has announced Mekko will be releasing with a patch next week. The delayed release was treated with a cheeky tone on the Bleeding Edge Twitter account Tuesday by suggesting Mekko is “being held for questioning” after harassing people with “inappropriate” puns and bad language....

In BBC thriller Bloodlands, in Belfast in early 1998, weeks before the Good Friday Agreement was reached, four people disappeared from both sides of the political conflict. They were former IRA member Joe Harkin, UVF Loyalist David Corry, Catholic priest Father Quinlan and military police officer Emma Brannick. The disappearances were made to look as though the victims had left the country, but it was suspected that all four had been executed by an assassin codenamed ‘Goliath’, an ‘inside man’ with access to police files....
It’s hard to believe that Borderlands 3 has already been out for several months, though, what’s even more surprising is the fact that multiple DLC campaigns for the game have already released. The DLC campaigns have always been a Borderlands staple, but the rate at which these campaigns have released is rather impressive, especially considering the outbreak of COVID-19, which the developers make mention of in this new campaign. If there’s one thing that Borderlands is most known for, it’s comedy....
Fans of Gearbox’s Borderlands series know it well for the irreverent tone and sense of humor that’s been central to the series since the first game released in 2009. But Vault Hunters the world over may not be quite as familiar with the work that goes into the games’ soundtrack and audio. Borderlands 3 composers Brian Lee White and Brian Trifon shared some of the processes that went into building the latest entry’s music, including finding sounds in unusual places like a creaky oven door and an incredibly cheap cello....
Gearbox Software boss Randy Pitchford had a surprise in store when he took the stage at GDC today during Epic’s Unreal Engine panel. Pitchford showed off a demo that Gearbox built within Unreal Engine 4 and said that the technology shown will “power the next Borderlands game.” Pitchford repeatedly stated that what he was showing was a “technology demonstration” and not a video game, but that didn’t stop observers from noticing that the demo’s graphics and artwork featured Borderlands unique style and looked very much like what one would expect from a next-gen Borderlands title....
Borderlands 3’s first year anniversary is fast approaching and the game continues to be a smashing hit to fans of first-person shooter games. Last February, developer Gearbox announced that Borderlands 3 just hit an impressive milestone with the game being able to sell over 8 million copies in under a year. Now, players who still haven’t tried out Borderlands 3, or any other Borderlands game for that matter, would be happy to know that the several titles from the franchise are currently discounted for the PC....
Following a long period of silence, new teasers and rumors of the latest entry in the Borderlands series have started appearing at regular intervals. Adding fuel to the fire has been the consistent stream of potential new Borderlands 3 details including new character art, story details, and selectable classes. Answers and confirmations should be right around the corner as Gearbox is holding a panel at the latest Penny Arcade Expo in Boston, Massachusetts tomorrow, promising more information regarding its latest teaser trailer....
