Even if you’ve never played the original Defense of the Ancients (or any of its variants) you should already know that Blizzard’s remake of the popular Warcraft III mod is something to be excited about. Take the developer’s unfaltering track record and combine it with a fantasy football draft including many of the most well-known heroes from the last 15 years of gaming. Then, make it a competitive multiplayer title, and you have what could be the next big thing in e-sports....

I’m generally pretty wary of remakes. It’s not that I’m against bringing relics of the past into the present - that is, for the most part, an objectively good thing in that it introduces younger audiences to the games their favourite series are influenced by. I reckon what constitutes “needs a remake” can be murky - but undoubtedly, Ico is a game that needs a remake. If something is extremely dated, difficult to buy, and even harder to actually play, it should be considered a viable candidate for the remake treatment....

PC players should be used to lackluster ports of big, triple-A releases, but Treyarch is looking to change that with their PC version of Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, which will be receiving a version built from the ground up specifically for PC. Activision made the announcement today during their Community Reveal event, which also showed off the game’s Multiplayer and Zombies modes. The PC version of the game is set to support an uncapped frame rate, 4K and HDR displays, and a wide variety of monitor compatibility....

Anyone wanting to try Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War’s multiplayer will two opportunities to do so this month. Activision has confirmed that it is making Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War’s multiplayer free to play for a limited time, giving players access to a selection of modes and content to give them a taste of what the full game has to offer. Fans have been learning a lot more about Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War in the past several weeks, and a message found in Modern Warfare yesterday teased the Black Ops Cold War Zombies trailer would be dropping soon. Today, the devs dropped a “first look” video on YouTube along with a blog post welcoming players to a “new chapter” in Call of Duty Zombies gameplay. Activision released a lot of info about Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War’s Zombies mode, along with the news that all DLC maps will come at no cost to the player when they launch....

Activision and Infinity Ward have a long history of adding cosmetic goods into Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone, though these often do not extend further than changing how a weapon, vehicle, or operator looks. One exception was Modern Warfare’s Tomogunchi wristwatches, which gave players a virtual pet to bring onto the battlefield that was modeled after real-life Tamagotchi products. The Atari VCS will finally be available to the general public this month. IGN has reported that the console is coming to US retailers beginning June 15. The new VCS will be available to purchase online at a specific set of retailers, including Best Buy, GameStop, Micro Center, and the official Atari VCS website. Each retailer will reportedly be offering their own unique launch-day promotions.
