This Attack on Titan review contains spoilers. Attack on Titan Season 2 Episode 4 Today’s Attack on Titan episode is another reminder to me of how different Japanese anime is compared to Western television in that 1) a whole episode went by without a single member core main characters—Eren, Mikasa, Armin—making an appearance, and 2) all twenty-some minutes of it took place in one location, following one continuous over-arching storyline. Shifting the narrative away from your main characters to peripheral ones completely isn’t a bad thing....

“Just walk away…just walk away and there will be an end to the horror.” Lord Humungus may just have been onto something when he offered Mad Max amnesty back in 1981’s The Road Warrior, but he never said anything about driving away. Begging for a bullet one moment, squashed under a beat-up black chassis the next, the unfortunate fellow showcased in Avalanche Studios’ latest trailer might have done well to remember that where Mad Max goes, vehicular carnage is sure to follow....

The Sunlit Wetlands, better known as the Fetid Bog, is one of the highest level areas you can get to in the early access of Baldur’s Gate 3. You can find yourself reaching level three pretty quickly after taking on the various lackeys roaming the lands, but your progress stops there for a while once you have to deal with what’s in the Fetid Bog and the Underdark. The highest level may only be four, but if you go in unprepared it can be pretty unforgiving....

The new trend in AAA video games is having influencers get a cameo, but Assassin’s Creed Valhalla goes in a different direction. In its quest to be the weirdest game of all time, Valhalla cast a pro baseball player as a Viking. Los Angeles Dodgers player Cody Bellinger plays Otta Sluggasson, which he said in an ESPN interview “translates to something like ‘power hitter’ or ‘big hitter.’” Otta apparently wields a large wooden beam and challenges the player to beat him in a challenge....

Battlefield 2042‘s ongoing open beta (which is currently available to those who pre-ordered the game but will be available to everyone starting on October 8) certainly showcases the game’s potential, but it’s easy to imagine that most fans’ biggest takeaway from the playable preview may just be this game’s technical shortcomings and how they strongly suggest that Battlefield 2042‘s November 19 launch might be a rough one. Before we dive any further into this topic, it’s worth reminding everyone that this is just a beta and doesn’t necessarily represent what the launch version of Battlefield 2042 will look/play like....

Call Of Duty: Black Ops 4 released a new DLC pack and theme this week, and 100% of the proceeds made from them go to helping real-life military veterans. Most of us use video games as a means of escape, even if we don’t realize we are doing so. Movies and TV shows can do that to an extent, but not to the same level that an in-depth video game can....

Call of Duty is a staple of the video game industry. The series operates on a yearly release schedule and has a huge, dedicated player base. On top of that, live service elements have been incorporated with the advent of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, with its Season 6 Battle Pass already released. In short, there is a lot of money involved in the series. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare was already making Activision-Blizzard a lot of cash even before Warzone was introduced, and while the COVID-19 pandemic has not lessened player numbers (it may have increased them) it has affected another part of Call of Duty....

In a move that is sure to pioneer a new facet of gaming focused solely on making money for the gamer, Blizzard has announced that Diablo III will feature an in-game auction house that allows players to sell all of their wares and earn actual cash. There are of course several stipulations that come with selling something in Diablo III, namely that the money earned will be “taxed” in several ways before it actually enters your bank account, but it’s still a pretty exciting new idea....

It’s no secret that Tiny Tina’s Assault on Dragon Keep was Borderlands 2’s best DLC by far. While Mr. Torgue’s Campaign of Carnage and Captain Scarlett and Her Pirate Booty were great in their own right, Tiny Tina’s DLC outshone every other piece of content in Borderlands 2. Now that Borderlands 3 is through its second major DLC in the form of Guns, Love, and Tentacles, it’s clear that Borderlands 3 is taking its DLC very seriously and each installment is pushing into ‘Dragon Keep’ level of quality....

Vault space, or the lack thereof, has been an ongoing concern for the Destiny 2 community. However, despite fan demand for more vault space in Destiny 2, Bungie has been reluctant to give fans more space to store their favorite weapons and gear. Bungie is aware of fan concerns, though, and apparently has some solutions in the works. Christopher Barrett, game director at Bungie, took to Twitter to address ongoing fan complaints about Destiny 2....

Activision releases a star-studded live action trailer for Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 that features Michael B. Jordan, Cara Delevingne, and Marshawn Lynch. Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 is mere days away from release, and the Activision marketing machine is as aggressive as ever, aiming to save the series from the declining sales it suffered for the last few years. This effort has included an epic launch trailer, as well as a trailer dedicated to the popular Nuketown map, but the latest trailer for the game is perhaps the most amusing yet....

For many fans, simply having access to the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War beta is reward enough. Still, for those who need some added incentive, Activision and Treyarch have added an additional reward for anyone who plays in the Black Ops Cold War beta. Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War has been slowly building itself up after a rough launch, and one of the latest fan favorite features to make a comeback is Gun Game. Unfortunately, not all Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War fans are happy with its design in the latest game, and some are asking to see some big changes made. Gun Game made its return in the Season 2 update for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, and the party game keeps the same premise that it has always had....

Twitter user @BlackOpsLeaks has just revealed an image of a supposed new map that may be coming to Call of Duty: Warzone on December 10 - this new map, dubbed ‘Rebirth Island’, appears to be a larger remake of Blackout’s Alcatraz. The file containing the leaked promotional image for Rebirth Island was found in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War which makes sense given that the two will be integrated when Cold War’s first season starts....

Call of Duty: Warzone has seen no shortage of clever plays in the months since its release, though less have featured C4 since the major nerf for the equipment in Warzone. One group of players has still made good use of the tool, however, sharing their clever strategy with players online. The group, led by Redditor TheGullOfPeople, wipes out an enemy squad with C4 as if they were using a pre-patch version of the throwable explosives....

Battle royale games handle this a bit differently than more traditional shooters, as players aren’t fully killed when they lose all of their health but are merely knocked down and disabled, giving their teammates a chance to revive them before they’re finished off for good. Usually, battle royale kills are credited to whoever downs a player, since they’re the ones who drained their health, but that’s not the case in Call of Duty: Warzone....

The Call of Duty League promised a new direction for professional Call of Duty and the chance for iconic players and new faces alike to make their make on the brand new league. Despite having to play a mostly online season, there was a lot to like in the league’s inaugural campaign with star players shining bright. With the regular season over and the playoffs coming up, the league announced the five finalists for this year’s MVP....
