Turtle Rock Studios representatives decided to clear the air about Back 4 Blood microtransactions, something that pretty much ruined its previous project Evolve. First-person cooperative zombie shooter Back 4 Blood is a spiritual successor to the Left 4 Dead series and is something many players have wanted to play for years....

The day for Baldur’s Gate 3’s early access release is fast-approaching, and many fans of both Dungeons & Dragons, developer Larian Studios, and the old Baldur’s Gate saga are eager to see the (sort of) final product. Baldur’s Gate 3 will be joining the ranks of many popular roleplaying games that came before it, and perhaps set the stage for what comes after. It has already been revealed that a good number of Dungeons & Dragons video games are either being planned or are currently in the works, to be released in the years following Baldur’s Gate 3....

This Batman article contains spoilers. Tom King and Clay Mann’s Batman/Catwoman kicked off its complex thread of mysteries earlier this month. In the present, the Bat and the Cat set out to search for Andrea Beaumont’s missing son, while an older Selina Kyle pays a friend a visit in the future, with the first issue concluding with the return of killer vigilante the Phantasm. It’s hard to say just where these threads are going after just one issue, but we do know that at least one new character from Bruce and Selina’s future and DC Comics’ past is set to play a major role in this story....

DICE revealed a bit of Battlefield 2042 gameplay during today’s Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase, giving us a look at its massive 128-player battles. The gameplay trailer also showed off some of the weapons and vehicles available to players, along with a grappling hook that will help navigate the chaos. The gameplay is all pre-alpha, so expect a bit of it to change ahead of its release on October 22. The Legend of Bum-Bo, a prequel to the hit roguelike indie game, The Binding of Isaac, released back in November 2019, and just over a year later, it’s getting its first DLC dubbed The Lost Expansion. This update is completely free, and with it comes a plethora of content. The titular character, The Lost, who first appeared as an easter egg in The Binding of Isaac, is joining the game as a new playable character, while there is also a brand new tile type to coincide - the Ghost....

The Multiplayer Beta for Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is live, and players have been getting to grips with the game all weekend. The single biggest recurring piece of feedback is undoubtedly in response to Armor, a gear variant that effectively gives the user more health in gunfights with no drawbacks. Black Ops 4, like previous Call of Duty games, sees players create customizable classes with plenty of different weapons, attachments, and perks to choose from....

Firebase Z is the first new Zombies map for Black Ops Cold War, and a fantastic way to start the DLC cycle. The map takes a lot of feedback from Die Maschine into consideration and improves on it from having multiple Armor Stations to less obnoxious Boss Zombies to deal with. However, the gameplay on Firebase Z is a lot different than Die Maschine. New mechanics and Wonder Weapons alter strategies for how to move around the map and shoot for the highest rounds you can reach....

Blizzard takes a hard stance on cheating in Overwatch by taking legal action against the creators of a popular set of tools used to gain an unfair advantage. Overwatch is already a huge hit for Blizzard — between its impressive first week player count and the countless memes related to the game being posted online, it’s clear that the game is finding a healthy audience. To the surprise of no one, Boogie2988 had cancelled his planned charity stream today. Last night he explained on his Twitch channel that, though he intended to do a charity stream for his birthday, he doesn’t actually know how to do it. Originally, Boogie promised to do a stream in which he would match every dollar donated and give all the money to charity. Boogie walked back that promise at one point saying that he would match up $10,000 instead, but now he apparently will not be making a donation of any kind....

The Borderlands franchise is well known for its impressive loot diversity, offering a range of item rarities from White commons to precious Pearlescents. It seems that Gearbox, almost seven years after the release of Borderlands 2, isn’t content with things as they stand. Following the recent Borderlands 2 4K update, dataminers have discovered an all-new item rarity hidden within the game’s files. While as-yet unimplemented, Vault Hunters may soon be able to discover Rainbow rarity items in-game....

Fans were ecstatic when Borderlands 3 was finally released for everyone to play. With the last title releasing in 2014, it was great to see the series return with the rise of looter shooters like Destiny and The Division 2 taking the spotlight. While the combat improvements and loot are some of the best the series has ever seen, a lot of plot holes and unresolved threads remain in the game’s main campaign and side content....

It’s been a rough year and a half for the concert industry. The North American concert industry alone lost an estimated $30 billion in 2020 due to the cancellation of pretty much all shows following the outbreak of COVID-19. While many had hoped the development of multiple vaccinations might bring about a 2021 in which live performance became the norm again, the sluggish global vaccine rollout combined with the more contagious Delta variant has dashed such dreams....
