Despite mixed reception among critics, Biomutant is showing pretty decent results among PC players. In fact, Biomutant’s launch on Steam ended up being the most successful ever for the publisher THQ Nordic. Biomutant is a new open-world action-adventure RPG from the Swedish development studio Experiment 101. The project was announced in 2017, yet the team remained silent for years after its reveal. The long-awaited and unusual title was one of this year’s most highly-anticipated releases, and fans are clearly excited to go hands-on despite the lukewarm reviews....

There are a lot of worthy black and white films out there. The always-relevant mass media manipulation of Citizen Kane, the perfect farce of Some Like It Hot, the rusty dystopia of Metropolis or the haunting dialogue of Casablanca… These? Nowadays, it is commonplace for games to launch with a few bugs, and Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is no exception. While Activision usually announces the new Call of Duty game by May of every year, it took its sweet time with Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. The title of the 1982 film Blade Runner is taken directly from a book. Well, from two books: the 1979 novella Blade Runner (a movie) by William S. Burroughs, which, in turn, was based on the 1974 novel The Bladerunner by Alan E. Nourse. Since Zombies was first introduced to Call of Duty with Call of Duty: World at War, the mystery box has been a consistent part of the experience. In a surprising move, the Minnesota ROKKR has announced that it is dropping all of its players from its roster ahead of the 2021 Call of Duty League season. The team, however, will retain head coach Brian “Saintt” Baroska. The CDL, which has decided to change its format from 5v5 to 4v4, has created a tremendous amount of upheaval among teams with the Ultra, Royal Ravens, Surge, and Guerrillas announcing that they will be completely renewing their rosters....

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare marked a triumphant return for one of the most successful first-person shooter franchises of all time. The reboot has been well-received critically and it has also managed to attract plenty of players. Disney has just released the second trailer for its upcoming film, Raya and the Last Dragon. Directed by Carlos López Estrada and Don Hall, Raya and the Last Dragon will have a more diverse cast than the majority of Disney movies that have preceded it. But what is particularly unique about this film is that it is also written by Asian American people, Qui Nguyen and Adele Lim. Nguyen is a playwright who has worked on projects for the likes of PBS, Netflix, and Marvel Studios to name a few....

Almost two weeks ago, Blizzard released their newest expansion for their long-running MMORPG World of Warcraft with Battle for Azeroth. Battle for Azeroth is the seventh expansion to release in the past 11 years, beginning in 2007 with Burning Crusade, and while each expansion has brought with it new continents to explore and races to play as, not all of them have given players enough reasons to return.
