In the history of Call of Duty multiplayer, assault rifles and small machine guns have usually been king. The META (most effective tactics available) usually bounces between all-around ARs and fast and accurate SMGs. Other guns have their place for fun, like sniper rifles and shotguns, but they may not be as effective. Large machine guns are often left in the dust, weapons that seem to be simply less effective and slower ARs....

A new countdown timer connected to Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War has appeared but so far, details seem slim as to what it is counting down to. Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War puzzle finders have already started the search and begun theory-crafting on social media and community forums. The countdown ran on the official Call of Duty YouTube channel for a full hour. Throughout the broadcast, listeners could hear numbers being read out in a repeating pattern....
The beta dates for Call of Duty Black Ops: Cold War may have leaked ahead of an official announcement from publisher Activision. According to COD Tracker and a Reddit post (both via IGN), pre-order listings for Cold War within the in-game storefronts for Call of Duty: WWII and Modern Warfare state the beta for the game will begin on PS4 on Oct. 8. Activision previously confirmed that the beta will be available on the PS4 “at least five days earlier than any other format....
Call of Duty Mobile is packed with content, consistently introducing limited time modes and special content. It seems like one of the most popular limited time modes will be returning to Call of Duty Mobile, however, as Attack of the Undead seems poised to make a comeback. Before there was Call of Duty: Warzone’s Zombie Royale, there was Attack of the Undead in Call of Duty Mobile. Placing 20 players on a sizable map, teams are split into Survivors and the Undead....
While Google Stadia hasn’t exactly taken the industry by storm since its launch, I was able to play Marvel’s Avengers on a 2017 iMac thanks to the platform, which is an achievement in and of itself. How did it go? Honestly, not that bad. The experience was very far from perfect, but compared to how the game runs on a standard PS4 and Xbox One, Stadia really isn’t that far off....
Ubisoft today revealed everything coming to Assassin’s Creed Valhalla with tomorrow’s Title Update 1.2.1. Beyond the usual suite of bug fixes, this time around we’ll also see three new skills – Cold Rage, Eye of the North, and Intense Rage. Those new skills will be the main draw for most of the Valhalla community, although anyone still affected by stability issues and other bugs will be happy to know a massive list of fixes will be arriving tomorrow....

Last week, DICE and Electronic Arts hosted a preview event to showcase Medal of Honor: Warfighter and to announce Battlefield 3’s DLC plans, allowing attendees to get hands-on with the first content add-on ‘Close Quarters,’ which releases in June. The event, held at The Grand Nightclub in San Francisco, was decorated with plants to reflect the gameplay preview for Warfighter. As much as the Frostbite 2-driven game, Medal of Honor: Warfighter, might pique some interest from everyone, it was Battlefield 3 and the the playable infantry-only expansion that we got to play with....
At the Battlefield V reveal event earlier today, developer DICE revealed a huge amount of information about the upcoming game. Not only did DICE offer up details on which game modes the first-person shooter will include (including confirmation that the game will not feature a battle royale mode), but it also shed more light on the game’s business model. During the livestream presentation, host Trevor Noah outright asked the Battlefield V developers if the game would be “pay to win,” or allow players to spend money in order to gain a gameplay advantage....

As quickly as the summer movie season of 2021 seemed to come upon us, it’s already about to begin its long, languid slide through the dog days of August into fall. That’s not to say that theaters won’t still have plenty of interesting fare to encounter, with films like The Suicide Squad, Free Guy, Respect, Candyman and The Night House all on deck. Hopefully the other hideous sequel happening at the moment — Pandemic 2: The Delta Variant — won’t set any of these potential hits back....
It’s no secret that the upcoming StarCraft 2: Heart of the Swarm is looking pretty good, with an epic campaign trailer showing off character-intensive cutscenes and new combat mechanics galore. While StarCraft 2 may not push the graphical barriers that Battlefield 3 can, the graphics of the RTS involving hundreds of units at once are unquestionably good, and the fans can look forward to improvements in the next expansion. An engine like that isn’t built in a day and during BlizzCon 2011 this weekend, the developers of the game took a few minutes to show the fans of the game how the long-awaited sequel looked during different stages of development....
Bloodborne is considered one of the greatest PlayStation exclusives of all time and saw millions of players try a FromSoftware title for the first time on their PS4. With fans hoping for either a 60 frames-per-second patch for the PS5 or even a sequel to the game being in the works, plenty of newcomers are trying the game for the first time. The 53-year-old - one of wrestling’s most popular figures, who mostly works as a color commentator on WWE’s shows nowadays - filed a copyright complaint against the video game publishers on Tuesday, accusing the company of stealing his likeness for Black Ops character David “Prophet” Wilks....
The support classes in the Bravely Default series are some of the most important in the entire game. No matter what opponent you face, it’s essentially necessary for you to have at least one character to heal your party, and another to change the stats of their teammates or foes. This is just as true of Bravely Default 2, where there are tons of jobs that have returned and changed since the first game, and even more that have been dramatically changed....

It might as well have continued “comes a comedy starring… women!” While the producer in question, Judd Apatow, had nearly created his own subgenre of modern coming-of-age comedies featuring male friendships (regardless of the age his characters were ‘coming of’), a credible, genuinely funny, ensemble laugher starring all women was virtually unheard of. Or at least so it seemed at the time....

Call of Duty: Mobile has been downloaded over 300 million times in its first year of availability. The popular mobile title - a free-to-play shooter from Tencent subsidiary TiMi Studios - is now just over a year old after launching for both Android and iOS on October 1, 2019. It surpassed 35 million downloads in no time and has since attracted a total north of 300 million. With CoD: Mobile’s 11th season now live, the game’s general manager Matt Lewis has confirmed it’s been downloaded by at least 300 million people....
