Envisioned as a spiritual successor to the immensely popular Left 4 Dead series, Back 4 Blood looks to be a high-octane online zombie massacring extravaganza slated to release later this year. The developer behind the title, Turtle Rock Studios, has made it clear that the game won’t just be a one-and-done for the team, hopefully sporting plenty of post-launch content for fans to look forward to. Talking to Edge Magazine, Co-Founder of the studio and Design Director of Back 4 Blood Chris Ashton clarified what Turtle Rock is currently considering when it comes to developing extra content for the game following its debut....

Balan Wonderworld is a bizarre 3D platformer that has turned heads thanks to its art style, its huge number of unlockable costumes, and the fact that it’s being developed by the creators of Sonic the Hedgehog and Nights Into Dreams. Balan Wonderworld’s release date is still a couple of months away, but 3D platforming fans looking forward to the game will have the chance to try it out ahead of schedule....

This Batman article contains spoilers. Writer Chip Zdarsky and artist Jorge Jimenez kick off a new era of Dark Knight comics with today’s Batman #125. The issue is the first part of their “Failsafe” arc, which Zdarsky described in his newsletter as “Batman’s Doomsday. It’s non-stop action and puts Batman in a very different place by the end of it.” The keyword here is “Doomsday,” which should set off alarm bells inside the heads of Batfans who were around in the ’90s when a villain of the same name killed Superman....

This holiday season will see two of the biggest FPS franchises launch with their own unique takes on the Battle Royale genre. With the Blackout Beta for Call of Duty Black Ops 4 coming in the next few days, Battlefield V has announced the details surrounding its own Battle Royale mode, which will be called Firestorm. Though Battlefield V will release a month after its competitor, EA has pulled back the curtain on what players can expect from Firestorm upon launch....

Cyberpunk 2077 has been having one of the worst weeks in gaming history. Sony was the first to tell gamers that Cyberpunk 2077 would be removed from the digital store and that refunds would be offered to anyone who wanted it. Shortly afterward, Xbox joined in. Now, we’ve learned that Best Buy is the latest retailer to jump on the “refund Cyberpunk 2077” bandwagon. The first couple days of the game’s release went relatively well, with records being broken for the fastest-selling PC game of all time and for most Twitch viewers for a single-player game....

In 2016, the HTC Vive, Oculus Rift, and PlayStation VR launched in an attempt to kick-start a virtual reality phenomenon in gaming. While there were some impressive early software offerings, the high price of VR headsets combined with a general lack of many high quality games left many consumers skeptical. However, in 2018, virtual reality really seemed to hit its stride, thanks to hardware price cuts and the release of some games that publications have hailed as VR’s killer apps....

Video game fans playing along with E3 2014 Bingo at home have yet another highly-anticipated game to check off the list of appearances after the EA presentation with BioWare’s Mass Effect 4. Although details about the game were in short supply, the presentation did reveal enough to blow lots of the theories about the game’s setting to pieces… The first look trailer, narrated by BioWare executive producer Casey Hudson, revealed a series of conceptual prototypes of both the setting and the brand new characters who we will be controlling in the next installment in the Mass Effect series....

Yesterday, during the Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 reveal event, developer Treyarch confirmed that the first-person shooter would have a battle royale game mode called Blackout. But although the studio was able to reveal several gameplay aspects about the mode, including its inclusion of named characters and a map that is 1,500 times bigger than Nuketown, the company didn’t confirm how many players Blackout would support. Since the reveal of the mode, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 fans have been doing their own investigation into how many players Blackout will feature....

Many people who get into programming do so because they want to create games, and thanks to Blizzard, the young ladies who have joined the Summer Immersion Program at the nonprofit Girls Who Code will get to work with people who have made that dream a reality. Women who work for Blizzard joined 26 10th-to-12th grade students to help show them the ropes of programming as the girls learned HTML, CSS, and JavaScript while making a website for a cause that they feel passionate about....

Fans of Borderlands 3 will have to wait a little while longer than expected for the Takedown at the Guardian Breach to arrive for the FPS-RPG, as 2K and Gearbox have chosen to delay the content as a show of support for the recent international protests against racial inequality. Borderlands’ Takedown missions are free for all existing players and have raid-style mechanics and rewards, and Gearbox has typically launched them between the game’s larger DLC content drops....

The original Bravely Default released in 2012 to highly positive reviews and was noted for featuring an enriching cast of characters to support its stellar storyline. Although it follows a similar format to most JRPGs with turn-based party combat, Bravely Default initiated the brave point and default system in which the game gets its name, which added to the game’s overall charm....

Indonesian esports organization BOOM has announced this week that they have recruited João “⁠Snowzin⁠” Vinicius to their Counter Strike: Global Offensive team. João “⁠Snowzin⁠” Vinicius is 13-years-old and is joining the team as a backup in preparation for the Gamers Club Masters V, an online tournament that attracts some of the best teams in South America, happening July 30th through August 2nd with a $11,4000 prize going to the winner....

After Bungie split from Activision in 2019, the developer laid out overarching plans for its now self-published Destiny 2. The Next Chapter livestream on June 9, 2020 revealed more about the ongoing game’s next three expansions: Beyond Light, The Witch Queen, and Lightfall, expected to provide content through 2022. Destiny 2 has continued to evolve since Beyond Light released last November, and one Bungie developer believes the best is yet to come....

The developers of the popular live service game Destiny 2 raised over $400,000 in just under four hours on Thursday during an event for charity. The stream took place on the 2019 GuardianCon Charity Marathon Stream and all of the donations will benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. GuardianCon, formerly Destiny Community Con, is a fan convention held in Florida each year. Now in its fifth year, the convention has grown from a fan meetup for streamers KingGothalion and Professor Broman into an enormous charity event streamed live on Twitch....

Infinity Ward has announced the weekly playlist update across all platforms for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone.
