As many remain homebound due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, various companies in the video game industry like Microsoft and Xbox have put together donation initiatives for coronavirus relief causes and other charities. Today Bethesda Softworks and its parent company ZeniMax Media announced they are donating $1 million in order to “do more than keep you entertained and connected” during the pandemic. The biggest chunk of that donation, $500,000, is going to the nonprofit Direct Relief to help provide personal protective equipment to health care workers according to Bethesda’s statement....

Two days ago, Walmart Canada appeared to leak several games by posting listings on their online store. Some were games many already expected to see emerging soon, such as Borderlands 3, but one listing took everyone by surprise: RAGE 2, a sequel to the 2011 post-apocalyptic shooter-RPG. Now, Bethesda appears to be continuing to tease the game’s release, with tweets hinting that a reveal will come on May 14th. Bethesda’s first response to the initial leak was to post a tweet from the RAGE twitter account, poking fun at the Walmart listing by making amendments in bright pink lettering with comments such as “WRONG FONT!...

Square Enix delivers another sequel to its Bravely series with the recent Switch-exclusive title, Bravely Default 2. Whereas Bravely Second: End Layer offered a direct follow-up to the events of Bravely Default, this ambitious new sequel takes place in an alternate world of sorts, and invites players on an entirely new adventure. However, once there, the adventure doesn’t quite feel as “new” as it likely could. Bravely Default was initially created as a sequel to a 2009 Final Fantasy game, so it makes sense that Bravely Default 2 and its Bravely counterparts all lean heavily into Final Fantasy design elements....

There are many things that Bungie is still working on after the release of Destiny 2’s Season of the Splicer, from a Sleeper Stimulant that didn’t get its promised buff to Pinnacle rewards not dropping in the Presage seasonal mission (which should be fixed by next week’s patch). One thing that Bungie forgot to tell us about in the Season of the Splicer patch notes was how Seasonal Challenges had their XP rewards corrected....

Over the last decade, Call of Duty has become known best for its exciting, and at times infuriating, multiplayer action. However, the studios behind the games continue to develop intriguing campaign storylines for their games that try to envelop players in mystery and action. After months of anticipation and a real-world scavenger hunt, players confirmed that Activision’s next Call of Duty game from developers Treyarch and Raven Software is Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. A teaser trailer for Black Ops Cold War was discovered this week that let fans know the game will be revealed August 26, but other details about it have been leaked before then. For example, Viral Junkie CEO Tom Henderson recently suggested zombie mode will be added to Black Ops Cold War, but it will not be announced during the August 26 reveal event in Call of Duty: Warzone....

Activision is showing off new additions to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare that will be included during Season Five Reloaded, which will be arriving in the game tonight. The Games of Summer event will follow shortly after, allowing players to test their skills with the various modes that Reloaded will be bringing with it, including Ground War Reinforce mode. The last few weeks of summer are upon players, and to close out the break from cooler weather and school sessions, Activision is hosting special events in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone....
