Avowed has drawn the most comparison with Skyrim, with its fantasy flavor and first-person perspective reminding many fans of the last Elder Scrolls game. However, Skyrim should not be the only RPG of the last decade which Obsidian Entertainment looks to when developing Avowed. The Witcher 3 was able to achieve one thing that Skyrim could not when it came to its side-quests. Avowed should look at how CD Projekt Red was able to integrate all of its Witcher 3 missions into a single overarching narrative – or at least, how it created the immersive illusion that the game’s side-quests were just as much a part of the story as its main mission....

It’s been 13 years since the Galactica reached Earth. We watched in the 2009 finale “Daybreak” as Admiral Adama, President Roslin, Apollo, Starbuck, Gaius Baltar, and Caprica Six walked towards a bright and unwritten future in their new home. It was a cathartic (but predictably divisive) ending to a six-year TV journey that remains one of the best and most influential in science fiction history. Borderlands 3’s third story DLC has officially been revealed, and this time Gearbox is sending players into the Wild West, or whatever would be closest to such a thing in the Borderlands universe. The DLC is officially called “Bounty of Blood: A Fistful of Redemption” and, much like the previous DLCs so far, embodies a genre theme. This time, players are going to live out a Western in the town of Vestige....

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War features a divisive new take on scorestreaks, and while Treyarch is unwilling to budge on the new system, they have acknowledged requests regarding balancing. Based on fan complaints, some scorestreaks in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War will be dealing different damage and carrying a new price tag going forward. The first mention of a change sees the iconic RC-XD streak being given a minor buff, allowing the explosive car to destroy sentry gun turrets in one detonation instead of two....

The recent Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War reveal held a special surprise for fans at the end of its trailer. After filling fans in on Black Ops Cold War’s multiplayer, Treyarch gave a small taste of the upcoming Zombies game mode. Although the clip was brief, it did give fans an early taste of what Zombies will look like upon Cold War’s release. Fans have been quick to note similarities between the clip’s gritty aesthetic and zombie style with Call of Duty: WW2’s take on the franchise....

Activision and Infinity Ward officially release a brand new trailer for Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare’s forthcoming Zombies DLC, Rave in the Redwoods. With Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare having topped the the charts as the best selling game of 2016, it’s safe to say that there are currently loads of players waiting on the first-person shooter’s initial round of post-launch content. Thankfully, the first map pack known as the Sabotage DLC is almost available, and now publisher Activision and developer Infinity Ward have provided more details on the Zombies portion of the Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare expansion, which has been dubbed Rave in the Redwoods....

There comes a time every Call of Duty game when players asks about its end. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is reaching the end of its domination when Black Ops Cold War releases next month and becomes the new focus of the franchise. Still, there are plenty of players that feel loyalty to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and are not planning on making the jump to Cold War. Some of these players are asking for certain playlists to become permanent in the hopes that the game will live on....

Since the initial teaser confirmed the addition of a metro system to Call of Duty: Warzone, fans of the game have been counting down the days to the season change. A new trailer for Season 6 has debuted, and it features tons of fan-requested content and some additional surprises that will turn Warzone into a more intense battlefield. From Warzone Subway Stations to a Night Mode, Verdansk is quickly turning into a war that never rests....

Call of Duty: Warzone offers fans tons of different options when it comes to queuing into a match. Players can choose between a standard Battle Royale experience, or queue up for one of the special Warzone variants. In each option, players can determine whether they want to play as a solo, duo, trio or quad group depending on what is offered at the time. It is this versatility in-game mode selection that makes Warzone a fan-favorite experience....

Activision has announced Call of Duty: Vanguard, the next installment in the popular shooter series. The new game, which is developed by Sledgehammer Games, in conjunction with Raven Studios and Treyarch, will take the franchise back to the battles of World War II for the first time since 2017, introducing a new story campaign, multiplayer component, Zombies mode, and even a brand-new map for Warzone. The announcement comes at a time of reckoning for Activision Blizzard, which is facing several lawsuits as well as disturbing allegations of sexist and toxic work environment....

There have been a few hints leading fans of The Witcher to suspect that another Witcher title could be in the pipeline at CD Projekt Red, albeit a long way off. The developer has confirmed that it is not working on a direct sequel to The Witcher 3, but that there remains a possibility for other games set in the Witcher universe, after Cyberpunk 2077 is released. A lot of fans, however, will be skeptical that a Witcher game could work at all without Geralt as the protagonist....

Snaring Thorstein is the next quest in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla after Blood Bond. Now that Eivor and Barid have been ambushed on their way back from the graveyard south of Dublin, it’s time to seek out the culprit and make them pay for what they’ve done. Fortunately, Barid has a fair idea of who arranged the attack: a Vikingr named Thorstein. As the name of the quest implies, your job is to track Thorstein down in order to make him answer for his crimes....

If you can believe it, both Persona 5: Royal and Persona 5: Scramble have been fairly successful. The niche series from developer/publisher Atlus has become something of a cult hit over the years and recent sales numbers from both the re-release and spin-off/sequel have sold better than the company expected. Atlus posted its financial earnings report for its first-quarter fiscal earnings and the two Persona titles along with 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim have sold far better than anticipated....
