This is the week of new console release with the Xbox Series X dropping today and the PlayStation 5 releasing only a couple days after. One of the selling points of the PlayStation 5 is a pre-loaded title, Astro’s Playroom, that showcases the consoles new features and gives players a first-hand look the DualSense controller, which was designed in conjunction with Astro’s Playroom. Astro’s Playroom is a sequel to the PSVR title, Astro Bot Rescue Mission....

Auto Chess remains a massively popular game across the world, though its western player base pales compared to its eastern. The auto-battler based on a hugely popular Dota 2 mod spun off into its own project in 2019 from the mod’s original developers. Now, it seems, Auto Chess is coming full circle. Drodo Studio has now announced that it’s working on a new game with publisher Dragonest. That game appears to be a MOBA based on the Auto Chess property....

Video game publisher Electronic Arts officially explains why the closed alpha test for its World War I shooter Battlefield 1 is going to be “very small.” According to a post on Electronic Arts’ “Help” section of its website, the company is currently holding a “very small” closed alpha for what many consider to be one of the best games at E3 2016, Battlefield 1, that is only available to a select few players on PC....

Electronic Arts unveils more details involving the Play First Trial for EA and Origin Access subscribers for its forthcoming first-person shooter Battlefield 1. With Battlefield 1 having recently achieved a successful open beta, the game’s developers want to keep the positive promotion flowing as much as possible, especially since the title’s release date is currently less than a month away. Now, Electronic Arts has unveiled additional details about the PC and Xbox One’s Play First Trial for EA and Origin Access subscribers to drum up further interest in the shooter inspired by World War I....

During a recent investors call, Electronic Arts COO and CFO Blake Jorgensen was asked whether or not Battlefield 5 would include its Battle Royale mode as a free-to-play experience. Jorgensen stated that while the company was potentially interested in a standalone Battle Royale release in the future, the fifth numbered entry in the first-person shooter franchise will only offer the mode to those who buy the whole game. With this having been settled, EA has now decided to give potential paying customers a tease of the title’s take on Battle Royale with a new trailer....

As part of today’s Electronic Arts earnings call event BioWare confirms the studio plans to release its upcoming sci-fi IP in the first quarter of 2018. During an earnings call earlier today, Electronic Arts confirmed that BioWare had not just one, but two games with planned release windows. The first is obviously Mass Effect: Andromeda, which launches on March 21. The second is the as-yet-unannounced new IP that BioWare Edmonton has been working on for several years....

Blair Witch was released last year on the majority of platforms, but players who wanted to experience the title on the Nintendo Switch have had to wait a little longer. Originally, the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War beta was scheduled to end on October 19th. Now, thanks to the dedicated work of the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War community, the beta will be extended until October 20th at 10 AM PT.
