Looking for something to do with your long weekend? Now available for Nintendo Switch and Steam, Cannibal Cuisine - from developer Rocket Vulture - brings its chaotic co-op cooking action to a couch near you. While the saying goes, “Stay out of the kitchen, or you’re gonna get burned,” in this case, you’ll want to stay out of the kitchen, or you’re gonna get… eaten.
Up to four players can take part in the co-op or PvP antics of Cannibal Cuisine, which tasks players with appeasing the hungry island god Hoochooboo’s appetite by serving up (and severing) tourists who are visiting the island.
Each level features challenging recipes that need to be prepared and fed to the island god, which is easier said than done with the rivers and walls that stand in the way of the tourists, the fire pit where which to cook them up, and Hoochooboo himself.
Local and online multiplayer is available - with both co-op and PvP modes - allowing you to have fun with your friends while maintaining proper social distancing practices. I had fun with our PC review of the game, but can’t help but feel the Switch version is the ideal platform to snag, especially for couch co-op.
Memorial Day weekend is often known for its parties and barbecues. This year, though, the meat might taste a little bit different.
