Since its release earlier this month, Call of Duty: Warzone has gone on to become one of the most popular battle royale debuts yet, with millions of players jumping in to see what the iconic shooter franchise can bring to the popular multiplayer game type. In turn, many have claimed that Warzone is a future contender to stand alongside the likes of Fortnite and Apex as one of the genre’s best, however, there needs to be some small tweaks and fixes before it can truly claim to be one of the biggest names in the battle royale world.
Case in point, a recent complaint held by fans, with many claiming that the vehicles found throughout Warzone’s map are incredibly overpowered and almost completely broken. While these claims have gone on for quite some time, there’s no better proof than a recent Reddit video that showcases exactly why Warzone players are beginning to lose their minds when being killed by an enemy behind the wheel.
Posted by user OhioBoi17, the player shows an intense encounter with an adversary piloting a giant truck. Managing to fire a few bullets into the truck’s window from inside a nearby building, the player has clearly managed to get one up on his foe. However, the truck then turns, reversing at full speed towards the player who backs up in fear of being hit by the speeding vehicle. It turns out it doesn’t matter too much where the player stands, as the truck still somehow collides with them despite being outside the building, flinging them back violently and killing them in the process.
The video itself has a number of comments claiming that the vehicle hitboxes are outrageously overpowered, especially as they can collide with players who aren’t even in their path. Alongside these gripes with hitboxes, many have claimed that they’re somewhat overpowered for a game that focuses heavily on finding gear to help equip players for tough battles. A speeding truck alone can wipe out an entire squad in a single hit, which is majorly imbalanced for a title that rewards players for being smart and finding strong gear to survive an intense shoot out.
Many have also claimed that the perspective granted to players within vehicles makes for a completely unfair advantage, with the 360 view afforded to vehicle owners allowing them a wide look at the battlefield to scope out potential targets. Evidently, the title needs to make some major changes to how vehicles work in the game, with many calling for them to even be completely scrapped overall. However Activision chooses to alter their use, balancing vehicles should be a focus going forward.
Call of Duty: Warzone is available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
