Call of Duty: Warzone has been a successful spin-off from the Modern Warfare reboot with its take on the battle royale genre. The free-to-play game, like most battle royale games, encloses players in an increasingly tight circle as they fight to be the last person or team standing. Naturally, players have come up with unique ways to approach this challenge in Warzone and it seems that there is a method to some of the madness as players test how the rockets in the game can be used.
The Call of Duty franchise is one of the most successful in gaming history and with that in mind it is not particularly surprising that Warzone has been well-received. However, consistent updates to the weapons in Warzone have made the game more enjoyable. As updates have continued, many players have found rockets to be an effective weapon when taking down enemy vehicles and it seems that they can be even more valuable when used correctly.
The YouTube channel DefendTheHouse has given players a definitive reach of all rocket launchers as well as some interesting notes on the speed of some rockets when launched from different weapons. The least impressive rocket-based weapon is unsurprisingly the RPG-7, which only manages to shoot at a distance of 265 meters. Once it reaches this distance it explodes regardless of contact. However, some much more impressive feats can be achieved in Warzone by using other launchers. The Strela-P Launcher does not lock on to targets but the YouTubers found that it can reach up to 600 meters before it explodes. It also travels at a much faster rate than the RPG-7 and with a little tweak, it can travel even further.
The Strela-P Launcher can be fired up to 1000 meters when facing upward and the video showcases how from the roof of the Stadium the projected rocket could hit the Prison area. Similarly, the PILA can do this incredible distance but the rocket travels at a significantly slower rate. Many players may be tempted to try out the free-hand Strela-P given its range and some may now consider it to be one of the best weapons in Warzone. However, it will take impressive accuracy to make a successful shot at this distance.
It will be interesting to see how players leverage this knowledge and it could lead to some deadly long shots at the beginning of the games. Although it is worth noting that when the game eventually gets into small areas many will rely on the short-ranged weapons in Warzone.
Call of Duty: Warzone is available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
