On Monday, August 10, Activision finally started to kick off its promotional campaign for the upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, sending a mysterious crate to a Twitch streamers, gaming publications, and influencers with clues that eventually led them to a teaser site. It seems the next big tease for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is set to take place on Friday, August 10, but in the meantime, fans have been taking a close look at the teaser site and finding some interesting details in the process.

On the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War teaser site, fans have discovered what appears to be the Call of Duty: Warzone map. It’s hard to see, but it seems to be the south side of Verdansk in the image. However, it’s possible that it’s something else entirely. And then, meanwhile, fans have also noticed that the latest Message of the Day in Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 highlights an area on a different map, and it’s marked (5). Needless to say, fans have more questions than answers at this point, but it does point to some interesting possibilities.

It has been rumored for quite some time that Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War would be adding a new Warzone map, but perhaps this is a sign that it will instead simply be adding on to the existing one. Information on Black Ops Cold War and how it will impact Warzone is still hard to come by, so fans will need to standby for more details.

Infinity Ward has said in the past that Warzone will be a “constant” for the Call of Duty franchise moving forward. What this means is that Warzone will continue to be supported, even as new Call of Duty games are released every year. These new Call of Duty games will have a direct impact on Warzone, so fans can expect Black Ops Cold War content to make it to Warzone within the next few months.

While nothing official has been announced, datamining leaks have given fans some possibilities as to what that content will be. Dataminers have found evidence that the Black Ops series killstreaks RC-XD and Spy Plane are in the Warzone files, so it’s possible that they will be added to the BR at some point down the line.

Another likely possibility is that Black Ops series character Frank Woods will be added to Warzone as a playable operator. Dataminers have found some Frank Woods dialogue in the game that matches up nicely with Warzone’s Black Ops Cold War teasers, so hopefully an announcement comes sooner rather than later.

Call of Duty: Warzone is out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
