Call of Duty: Warzone has been a hit with the majority of players as it has combined the mechanics of the reboot of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare with the battle royale genre. Warzone has managed to keep its appeal through frequent updates that have added to the available weapons, and abilities that players can utilize as they are enclosed in an increasingly small space. However, these updates have also introduced bugs that have led to annoying manipulations of the mechanics that feature in the game.
The battle royale genre is saturated and many titles are struggling to dominate the growing market. However, Warzone has managed to seamlessly capture the large fan base of the Call of Duty games. Despite a large player base, the game has run into issues and glitches are not rare in Warzone. A recent glitch was shared by a Reddit user that exposed series issues with the textures in the game that Infinity Ward will need to fix if they want to keep the game competitive.
Reddit user Webman2000 posted gameplay footage with the caption, “This has to end.. how do you find this fun?” and it showed a very unfair death in the Prison section of the Verdansk map. While the player was searching a room they were shot from below, despite the room being mostly self-contained. The replay of the death shows that a player who was many floors below, likely under the map, and they simply had to look up and they could see through the levels and shoot their opposition. It is unclear whether this was a deliberate move by the opposition or something they stumbled upon but this video has angered players of Call of Duty: Warzone.
The clip seems to be an extreme example of the texture issues in Warzone and players have lamented the problems in the game on the back of this post. While Warzone is still popular and largely works, some players will want the issues in the game addressed if the title is set to continue updating with the Call of Duty series.
Warzone is set to “evolve” with future Call of Duty titles, however, it will need to fix its current issues to maintain its impressive popularity. Infinity Ward has been consistently addressing issues and players will hope that issues with textures and general glitches are fixed soon. Otherwise, some players may turn to different games.
Call of Duty: Warzone is out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
