It just wouldn’t be Warzone without some sort of game-breaking glitch haunting players. The latest was an exploit that would let some players use an invincible gas mask to exist outside the circle for as long as they wanted, avoiding the final showdown and plinking off opposing players from near-complete safety.
Activating the glitch was a bit involved. You needed to kill yourself at the right time, then win your Gulag match to return to Verdasnk ‘84, and then pick up a gas mask. Do it right and that gas mask will never degrade from gas exposure.
Thankfully, Raven Software got that exploit fixed quick. The most recent Warzone patch addressed the gas mask glitch so now players won’t have to worry about getting sniped from outside the circle.
In addition, the latest Warzone patch also updated the game’s playlist options. Verdansk just got Mini Royale Quads and Plunder Blood Money Duos added as available options, while Plunder Tris and Rebirth Island - Mini Royale Quads were both removed. Rebirth Island’s Resurgence Quads mode is still available for now, however.
Warzone will be getting another update on May 20 that will add the ’80s Action Heroes Pack. The official Call of Duty Twitter account has been teasing both Rambo and John McClane for the past few weeks, and it looks like both will be added when the pack arrives next week.
At the same time, Black Ops Cold War will receive sweeping changes to its weapon balance. Treyarch just announced a weapon tuning pass for sniper rifles, assault rifles, light machine guns, and pistols. They didn’t say whether it would be a nerf or a buff, and neither did they say if it would also affect Warzone at all.
Warzone recently received weapon tuning for the CR-56-AMAX, FARA 83, Streetsweeper, Bullfrog, and PPSh-41. Most of them were nerfed significantly, but the PPSh-41 received a range boost that should make it a bit more viable in medium-range engagements.
