A mysterious message sent out via the Call of Duty mobile app today suggests that an in-game event will occur May 21 in Call of Duty: Warzone. Recent rumors suggest a cold war-themed Black Ops sequel, and it would seem today’s message further confirms that. The message that came out today can be read below.
Coupled with the bunker unlocks that occurred with yesterday’s updates, many are suggesting an in-game event tomorrow which could trigger map changes on Verdansk. Within the bunkers, many exciting weapons and gear can be found, but if players look around, they can also find nukes, leading to the intense speculation of a game-changing event tomorrow.
Could Nuketown be making a debut in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare? Similar to other free to play, battle royale maps that have had game changing events like meteors in Fortnite or the mysterious dome found in Battlefield V: Firestorm (which maybe never went on to change the map further?), the message suggests the out of game easter egg message above may have in-game significance tomorrow.
It is unclear where target Denver is located, however, the bunker with the nuclear warhead inside would make perfect sense. Currently, the time of the event is unknown. Based on the latter part of the message suggesting it is important to keep an eye on comms for the location of enemy surveillance if you are interested in this event, it might be a good time to download the call of duty mobile app.
