Most Battle Royale games focus on the looting aspect, forcing players to use weapons that are subpar compared to others. Call of Duty: Warzone circumvents this issue with its economy system that allows squads to purchase killstreaks and custom Loadouts.
Money can be earned from doing nearly anything, but one of the largest sources of income is Contracts. These side missions encourage players to explore the map and fight other players with some loot and cash as rewards. Exploiting Contracts can lead to great early-game starts and result in more victories. Here are 10 tips for completing Contracts faster in Call of Duty: Warzone.
10 Recon: Capture As A Squad
Recon Contracts are a fantastic way of gaining intel. Completing Recon missions will display the next circle for you and can be repeated until you know the final ring location.
It is crucial to complete these as fast as possible since you need to stay at one spot for a short period. For these types of Contracts, the whole squad should be with you. If everyone captures the HQ at the same time, it dramatically speeds up the capture and allows your team to focus on another Contract.
9 Scavenger: Split The Team Up
Looting is a core part of any BR title and especially important in the earlier portions of Warzone. That is why Scavenger Contracts are so useful as they provide Legendary weapons and tons of cash when completed.
Splitting the team up during these isn’t a bad idea. Scavenger boxes are usually close to each other and almost always spawn in buildings, so their spawns are predictable in more open environments. You can also have one or two players look for a second Scavenger Contract during this period so the team can chain Contract bonuses and get geared faster.
8 Bounty: Use UAVs
Information is key to winning Plunder or Battle Royale in Warzone. If you know where enemies are, it is much more likely you’ll win the gunfight.
Keep this in mind when obtaining Bounty Contracts. While the game gives you a rough idea of where the enemy squad is, nothing can compare to their exact location through a UAV. Make sure one squad member uses one before charging into a building to get a much more accurate idea of where the enemy is.
7 Most Wanted: Stay Indoors
Running outdoors while the Most Wanted Contract is active is suicide. The objective is to stay alive, not get sniped from across the map.
You want to minimize risk while this Contract is active, so it’s imperative you find a good position to hunker down in. Buildings are the most obvious choice, forcing enemies into key chokepoints you can rig with traps. Don’t become aggressive unless necessary or out of boredom.
6 Bounty: Use Spotter
Spotter is one of the most underrated perks in Warzone. This tier 3 perk will display enemy equipment through walls and allow you to control it through a hack.
This can be especially handy when hunting down Bounty targets. Most players that become hunted will camp in a building and wait for the time to expire, setting traps to get the upper hand. Use Spotter to hack these traps before either baiting the team out or charging in. The traps will do most of the heavy lifting.
5 Recon: Bring A Vehicle
Most Recon Contracts will ask you to travel around 200 meters to capture the newly-spawned HQ. To make this quicker, have a vehicle at the ready when you pick the Contract up. Once you finish the capture, make your way out of the area as soon as possible as every nearby player is notified you completed a Recon Contract.
4 Scavenger: Listen For The Boxes
Like most creates around the map, Scavenger crates emit an audible hum that can be used to pinpoint their location.
The game will mark where most of these boxes are for you, but it can be disorienting sometimes if the crate is in a skyscraper or if an ally pings multiple objects. You can always rely on its hum to direct you to its location, however.
3 Bounty: Grab Late-Game
Most Contracts are meant for the first few minutes of a match when players are working towards earning Loadouts and purchasing killstreaks.
The main exception to this is the Bounty type of Contract. Bounties will give you a rough idea of where an enemy is. Since most players use Ghost once they have a loadout, Heartbeat Sensors and UAVs won’t detect these enemies. Nothing can make you immune to a Bounty mark, however, so use this to your advantage in the final minutes of a match for some additional intel.
2 Bounty (On You): Use Threat To Your Advantage
Enemy squads are just as likely to grab Bounty Contracts as you are. There will be moments where your team gets hunted down, but this isn’t a negative most of the time.
Warzone will give you a threat indicator as to how close an enemy squad is to you while your team is hunted. If that threat level becomes 3 bars or red, that means a squad is within 50 meters of you. This is the exact distance a Heartbeat Sensor starts to detect targets, so use the threat meter as an indicator for upcoming fights.
1 Spend Your Cash
Don’t forget to spend your cash once you complete Contracts! Money is given to all members of the squad upon Contract completion, allowing coordinated teams to obtain Loadouts much faster than most.
Plan a route to the nearest Buy Station once you have completed a few contracts so your team can obtain Loadouts and perks. If everyone is already geared, purchase multiple UAVs to get a rough idea of where every player on the map is, making the final minutes of a Warzone game much easier.
