Call of Duty’s servers are down, which really has to suck on this holiday weekend.

It’s the long weekend, so naturally, people are looking to unwind and escape the pandemic-laden hellscape we find ourselves in. For some people, that means heading to a Russian ghost town to murder everyone they can see. That’s just how the world is these days.

Unfortunately, those people can’t. Activision’s servers are down, so nobody can access Call of Duty: Modern Warfare’s online features.

According to Downdetector.com, reports of server outages began appearing at around noon today with over 6,000 complaints. The unofficial Call of Duty: Warzone Twitter page notes that servers are down for Europe, the UK, and the entire worldwide Xbox platform. It looks like the PlayStation 4 servers are still working, however.

The official Activision Twitter page reports that they’re “investigating an issue where some players are unable to connect to online services,” but provides no further information. We don’t know why the servers are down or what’s caused the outage.

It’s possible that this is all due to server load; it is Memorial Day weekend, after all. Still, this outage is coming at the worst possible time.
