With today’s new update to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare comes the addition of an iconic piece of history from the series. Flaming throwing knives are finally making their way into the game as some of the best looking throwable items available.

Acquiring the flaming throwing knives is only available through the purchase of the Pyromaniac bundle from the in-game store. The bundle features not only the knives, but also the Legendary Firestarter skin for Krueger, the Caldera Legendary scheme, an all new finisher, from the Fire Claw III category, and several cosmetics. A secondary bundle is also being added to the story at a later date, the Fire Claw III, featuring the SMG Legendary scheme “By the Toe”, a new “Crown-Themed” spray, and a new keychain titled “Tiger-Themed”.

Since the bundles are only available through the in-game shop, players will need to use their premium currency or top of their accounts to make the purchase. While the flaming throwing knives confer no competitive advantage over other players, they are known for producing some of the absolute best-looking kill replays. Few things are more impressive than a flying knife catching a target by chance after being flung from across the map!

While previous cosmetic bundles like this one would have been used only in Modern Warfare, the introduction of Warzone on March 10 has seen a significant amount of crossover between the two modes. The Pyromaniac bundle may be a huge seller since players can use their cosmetic items in Warzone, giving players more value for their money in terms of being able to use their favorite items in any mode they choose.

For those hoping to dive into Call of Duty today, they may be in for a bit of a wait as there are up to two separate downloads and installations needed. For players who own Modern Warfare, they will need to download the patch as normal once the update is live. Then, when trying to access either Multiplayer, Special Ops, or Campaign, they will then be prompted to download the Data Pack DLC.

Luckily, players will still be able to jump into Warzone while the download is happening. Once complete, players will need to restart their games to access the game as normal, whereas Warzone players only have the first download to worry about.
