Call Of Duty Modern Warfare has no shortage of maps, but some are better than others. Cheshire Park is one of the best in the game, though it can come with a bit of a learning curve. When it came out, Cheshire Park seemed like it was a pretty easy map to understand, and while that’s still true, it also has a pretty high skill ceiling.

To help you climb that skill ladder a little bit quicker, here are some helpful tips for performing a little bit better on Cheshire Park.

10 Street (West)

West Street is full of possibilities. You can get to pretty much anywhere else on the map from this street, branching into Park Entrance, the Row Houses, Parking Lot, Back Alley, and Retail Row.

This is the jumping-off point for whatever team spawns on this side, and it’s nigh-on impossible to keep a team pinned here. Grow familiar with this street’s passages to learn the best way to traverse the map.

9 Parking Lot/Back Alley

The Parking Lot/Back Alley area isn’t going to be frequented very often by most players, but it does have some value in certain situations. From the Parking Lot, players have a very good view of the end of West Street and into the Insurgent Headquarters.

The Back Alley, on the other hand, is one of the best flanking routes on the map, providing a pretty sneaky way into West Street and the Parking Lot.

8 Retail Row

Retail Row is one of the highest traffic areas in Cheshire Park, and it’s going to, most of the time, have a sniper glare at one (or both) ends of it.

There’s not a lot of room to get across the street if there are enemies on the other side of it; most of the time, a gunfight here is going to be finished from the ends, giving a big advantage to anybody there with longer-range capabilities.

7 Cask & Dragon Pub

The Pub leads directly into either Retail Row and East Street. This Pub is very close-quarters with a ton of different entrances. If East Street is contested, the Pub is going to be pretty lively; if East Street is under control, the Pub may as well be closed.

It is possible for the enemy team to rush the Pub through Retail Row, though it’s pretty easy to keep this from happening with a claymore or proximity mine.

6 Street (East)

The East Street is very similar to West Street, in that it’s the other spawn’s gateway into the rest of the map. East Street has access to the Pub, Residence, Conservatory, Retail Row, and Row Houses.

It’s a bit easier to ambush people at East Street than it is West Street because the Conservatory is difficult to keep clear of enemies; the same can be said for the Row Houses. To alleviate this, having teammates on the upper floor of Residence can keep the area clear pretty easily.

5 Residence/Insurgent Headquarters

There are two interior environments that have upper-floors in Cheshire Park: Residence and Insurgent Headquarters. Both of these areas are adjacent to East Street and West Street respectively, and both of them have decent views of the Row Houses.

As always, people with the high ground are going to be targeted by those without it, although the former still have the advantage.

4 Row Houses

The Row Houses is one of the more chaotic areas on the map, due to the fact that the middle of the street is blocked off with burning vehicles. Coming around that is a blind option, and it’s quite likely the last thing a player coming around this is going to see is a sniper glare, especially when moving towards East Street.

This is generally going to be an area more advantageous to the East side. However, if they aren’t paying attention to it, the West side can get a pretty decent advantage by pressing from that area.

3 Garden Square

Garden Square is the area most players are likely to get shot and have more or less nothing that they can do about it. Each side has a half-wall that they can mount their weapon on and fire indiscriminately towards the other side, and most of the time, whoever arrives there first is going to win that fight.

If someone else has control of the area, most of the time, multiple players are going to have to attack at the same time, or else lob a well-cooked grenade and wait for the points to appear.

2 Conservatory

The Conservatory is, without a doubt, the most hotly-contested area of Cheshire Park. The West side usually gets control of the Square off and on throughout the match, and when this happens, the Conservatory turns into an actual bloodbath.

It is almost impossible to hold this area while enemies try to come in, because three of the four doorways have very short sightlines, meaning enemies can come in and surprise those inside with relative ease.

1 Park Entrance/Toilets

The Park Entrance/Toilets area is pretty unsuspecting, as it usually only functions as a throughway to get into or out of Garden Square. However, if the East side push through Garden Square and get into the Toilets area, this whole section of the map becomes an absolute nightmare.

There are quite a few little hidey holes that enemies can get into here, and because of the huge brick wall surrounding the area, it can be relatively difficult to push them back out.
