With only a few days left until the release of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, player anticipation is on the rise. Physical pre-orders are already being sent out, which is allowing some fans an offline look at the title, and has lead to several new Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War leaks. With the game available in offline mode, players have revealed weapons, game modes, and even gun camos, giving fans s their first look at the Dark Matter camo.
Dark Matter is a famous camo from the Call of Duty: Black Ops franchise. It is similar to Modern Warfare’s Damascus skin, as it is rewarded for unlocking the gold and diamond camos for every weapon. The Dark Matter camo was revealed by prominent Call of Duty leaker TheGhostOfMW2, who showed that the skin will have a similar color scheme to some past camos. In the image, the gun’s camo is seen as a pink and purple paint job with a glossy touch, giving it an almost plastic appearance.
So far, the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War camo has generally been well received by fans. The redesign is bright and colorful, which is a stark contrast to previous iterations of this skin. It’s too early to tell if this will be a reactive camo, but many fans expect that it will be.
The one thing that many fans are still cautious about is the challenges needed to unlock the camos. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare’s challenges were grind-heavy and difficult for casual players to unlock in reasonable amounts of time. Hopefully, the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War challenges will be easier on the player population, while still be challenging enough to be worthy of unlocking Dark Matter.
The game launches fairly soon so answers are on the horizon for fans. Players will no doubt see more Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War leaks appearing while the game gets ever closer to a full launch. Do note that as this is a leak, and not an official Activision announcement, so the image could be faked. Still, the leaker has a reputation for accurate information giving this leak some extra attention in regards to fan expectations. Plus, with the game so close, it seems pretty likey that authentic-looking leaks going forward will be valid, though there will be some exceptions to that.
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is set to launch on November 13th for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
