It looks like the rebooting of the greatest Call of Duty games is fully underway, as we got a very brief, very cool teaser for Call of Duty Cold War during a game on Warzone. While messing around on the map, players found what appears to be an intentional glitch telling us to “know your history.”

The glitch appeared during a match of Warzone in which players can be seen driving a jeep across the map. At first, it’s a “blink and you’ll miss it” moment, but then when you look closer, you see that this isn’t just any visual glitch. This looks intentional; like the devs put it there to be found by someone. This theory is further backed up when we learn what the players went through before this teaser appeared.

Apparently, the gamers went and got a red key-card from the train, went to the bunker on the lower end of the map, looted it, and about 30 seconds later, the glitch happened. Of course, fans of the original Black Ops will notice that there’s something familiar about this kind of visual. Luckily for us, you don’t need to settle for written descriptions, as VG24/7 shared a tweet that lets you see the whole thing in all of its creepy mind-control glory.

Since we are already in Russia, it makes some sense to bring back the black ops of the Cold War, and it could have some really cool consequences for Warzone. The developers are already saying that Cold War and Warzone are going to be “tightly integrated” so finding clues in Warzone is the logical way to tease the upcoming game.

Fortnite has found a lot of success in teasing not only additions to the game inside of the game, but also concerts, movies, and every other pop-culture reference you can floss at. If the devs at Infinity Ward are taking cues from that—and it’s fairly obvious at this point that they are—we are going to see a lot of really cool content in those massive updates that they keep throwing at us. As for Cold War, that has the potential to be a break-out success for the game theorists out there, so be sure to dig around your old COD games for some history lessons.
