There is quite a bit going on this week in Call of Duty, beginning with a potential delay in the release of the next game in the series. Tom Henderson, an often-correct industry observer of matters relating to the franchise has been stating for some time now that the development of the next game appears to be suffering from many of the same problems affecting industries around the world caused by the pandemic.

While development may be slowed by these global complications, there may also be conflict among the developing studios, Sledgehammer Games, Raven Software, and Treyarch. This would not be the first time that issues among the developers slows progress, and this may simply be a bump in the road.

In Call of Duty: Warzone, there appears to be bug caused using the Taiga skin for Krueger, which is a premium skin obtained from the Wendigo Operator pack. Normally when players drop into a match, they leave a trail of distinct colored smoke that clearly indicates where they are going. Right now, anyone using the Taiga skin does not leave any smoke trail, which is problematic in that a premium skin confers a competitive advantage relating to information.

Hopefully, this is patched out soon. Otherwise, players might start to see Warzone as pay to win - even if the advantage locked behind a premium package is relatively small.

Lastly, and most exciting of all, is that Warzone might see the additions of zombies added in the near future. A new mode or changes to existing modes has not been formally announced, but players are finding clues in game that point to such a move. In a recent update to the Warzone map, players can now see Spaceland zombies.

This could either mean that there will be a shift in the map towards new content inspired from the older games, or could simply be a clue for the next sequel in the Call of Duty franchise relating to Black Ops and set in the Cold War. In any case, these types of map changes are always exciting for players who love seeking out new clues and Easter eggs littered throughout the map.

Hopefully soon players will discover more clues to give us all a more solid idea of what lies ahead!
