Part of how Breath of the Wild reinterprets The Legend of Zelda is by shaking up the very core of the series’ gameplay loop. Dungeons have been replaced with Divine Beasts, the story is totally fragmented, and most puzzles or gameplay challenges are now relegated to Shrines – Breath of the Wild’s interpretation of mini-dungeons (emphasis on mini). The average Shrine in Breath of the Wild is minutes long, focused on a single puzzle, and often meant to be completed in bite sized chunks. Then there are Shrine Quests.

Shrine Quests are Breath of the Wild’s way of adding meat to the Shrine system, including entire side quests that ultimately build up to their Shrines (and in some cases, there’s even puzzles to solve in the Shrine after the fact). Most side quests add flavor to BotW’s world, with The Ceremonial Song greatly expanding on Zora lore. Completing The Ceremonial Song requires finding the lost Ceremonial Trident and proving Link’s just to reveal the Shrine.

Speak To Laruta

To start The Ceremonial Song, warp to Zora’s Domain and speak to Laruta – a young Zora girl who knows about the song. Laruta can be found in the center of the fountain itself and will send Link towards Trello’s direction once spoken to. Trello can be found staring into the water on the Domain’s northwest bridge.

Trello will reveal that he actually lost the Ceremonial Trident, outright preventing the possibility of the ceremony happening. Thankfully, Trello dropped the Ceremonial Trident into the water down below so it’s not entirely lost. Players will need to keep their eyes peeled to make sure they spot the Trident, however.

Find The Ceremonial Trident

With Trello’s placement on the northwest bridge, logic dictates the Ceremonial Trident would be in the water directly down below or at least nearby. Use the Paraglider to drop down below safely and find a spot to create Cryonis pillars from. You’ll need to make a long enough Cryonis bridge to spot the Ceremonial Trident down in the water.

To find it quickly, activate Magnesis and levitate the Trident out of the water. Make sure to place the Ceremonial Trident on a nearby ice pillar and hop over so Link can pick it up without inventory. Once the Trident is in your inventory, head back up to the bridge and speak with Trello to hear more about The Ceremonial Song’s specific details.

To The Top Of Veiled Falls

After finding the Ceremonial Trident, Trello will tell Link about Veiled Falls – a waterfall just west of Zora’s Domain. With the Ceremonial Trident equipped, Link needs to scale to the top of the Veiled Falls and then drive the Trident straight into the Dagah Keek Shrine’s podium. If players manage to get the tip of the Ceremonial Trident into the podium, the Shrine will appear.

The fastest way of Veiled Falls is to either equip the Zora Armor and swim up the waterfall itself or use Revali’s Gale to gain some height and start climbing up to the side of the waterfall (but be prepared to expend a lot of stamina). It might take a few tries to get the positioning just right, but once at the top, jump down with the Ceremonial Trident piercing downwards.

Dagah Keek Shrine

Once the Shrine has been triggered, head inside. Dagah Keek Shrine is a simple Blessing Shrine, which means it features no puzzles. Open the chest inside to get a Silver Rupee and then speak with the monk up ahead to get the Spirit Orb. Should you ever lose the Ceremonial Trident before completing the Shrine Quest, Link can obtain the Lightscale Trident after completing Vah Ruta or repair the Ceremonial Trident at Dento’s workshop in Zora’s Domain.
