Without a doubt, Borderlands 3 and Cyberpunk 2077 are some of the most hyped games on the horizon. The former is the official threequel to the self-touted original looter-shooter, and the latter seems to be living up to the standards of its predecessor, The Witcher 3, as Cyberpunk 2077’s file size is huge. And now, one fan artist known as Reddokkaebe has combined the two projects together in an impressive Borderlands 3 x Cyberpunk 2077 crossover.

Borderlands 3 fans will recognize the portrayed characters as Troy and Tyreen Calypso, the primary antagonists of the threequel, but complete with some interesting Cyberpunk 2077-esque upgrades. Reddokkaebe stated that these are some of his most hyped games, and no one can really blame him. With Borderlands 3 launching this Septemeber and Cyberpunk 2077 dropping in April 2020, there will likely be some transitioning from one to the other, if not playing them at the same time.

What’s more, Reddokkaebe’s Borderlands 3 x Cyberpunk 2077 crossover managed to get the attention of Max Mittelman and Elisa Melendez, the Borderlands 3 voice actors for Troy and Tyreen Calypso, respectively. Mittelman retweeted the crossover artwork, and Melendez posted a .GIF indicating her amazement. So it stands to reason that Reddokkaebe was likely excited to see his work acknowledged by the voice actors for the characters he used for the crossover.

Reddokkaebe’s artwork is certainly impressive, with recent works also including a sketch of Amara the Siren in various stances, but as the artist admits, we know so little about Troy and Tyreen Calypso. Perhaps that is what adds the allure to the two characters, as well as why the connection to Cyberpunk 2077 works so well, since most of it is shrouded in mystery too.

One of the biggest mysteries surrounding Cyberpunk 2077 is the role of John Wick star Keanu Reeves who plays Johnny Silverhand. In turn, there is a ton of mystery surrounding Johnny Silverhand, as he reportedly died years before the events of Cyberpunk 2077. And while it remains to be seen what that exactly means, there’s nothing wrong with enjoying some good Borderlands 3 x Cyberpunk 2077 crossover content.

Borderlands 3 releases September 13 on PC, PS4, and Xbox One. Cyberpunk 2077 will release on April 16, 2020 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
