The character builds in Borderlands 3 are some of the craziest in the entire series. Thanks to the unique skills, unique items, and anointed modifiers, there is seemingly no limit to the theoretical and broken builds players can come up with.

In fact, some of the builds can lead to some truly interesting playstyles with a few that change how the game plays out entirely. For anyone looking to have some bizarre playthroughs, these wacky builds should be top of the list for the next game.

10 Vacuum Cleaner Amara

This build for Amara is designed to clean a room of enemies from a distance without ever getting her hands dirty. The key is the combination of her skills Eternal Fist, Allure, and Ascendant. This will scoop up enemies into a tight group to be punished.

This is great for dragging ranged enemies away from cover or yanking back melee enemies that are getting too close. Wildfire causes status effects to pass between clustered enemies. Indiscriminate bounces bullets between them. Finally, Catharsis causes a killed unit to explode and harm their nearby comrades.

9 Front Line Moze

This build causes Moze to become an unstoppable juggernaut when in her Iron Bear. Having a strong shield is critical as Selfless Vengeance and Thin Red Line trade her health for more damage. Skills like Armored Infantry, Desperate Measures, Experimental Munitions, Cloud of Lead, Phalanx Doctinre, and Stoke the Embers increase bullet and incendiary damage.

The idea is to wield incendiary ammo and railguns into battle. Inside the Iron Bear, Moze is an absolute war machine raining hellfire down on her enemies. While waiting for Iron Bear’s cooldown, Moze is mopping up survivors with her fiery ammo.

8 Crit FL4K

This is a popular build amongst the fanbase and for good reason. This build makes FL4K a terrifyingly effective sniper that’s forgiving for less accurate shooters. Megavore is FL4K’s linchpin skill as it allows 20% of shots to be critical no matter where they hit.

The rest of the build is funneling points into skills like Ambush Predator, Grim Harvest, and Furious Attack to raise damage and weapon handling. Fade Away is absolutely critical for the +200% critical hit damage along with Galactic Shadow, Leave No Trace, and Unblinking Eye. Weaker enemies will melt and bosses will quickly go down with this crazy stealth build.

7 Infinity God Moze

This build is all about maximizing grenade damage with Moze. Means of Destruction is essential for this build as it has the chance to regenerate a grenade whenever Moze deals splash damage. Torgue Cross-Promotion increases said splash damage, while Why Can’t I Carry All These Grenades increases grenade capacity.

Pull The Holy Pin and To The Last are also helpful for increasing damage and giving Moze a chance to come back from the brink. The build centers around hurling legendary grenades at enemies, causing massive explosions that potentially refund the grenades.

6 Run And Gun FL4K

This powerful FL4K build is all about getting up close and personal with the enemy before riddling them with bullet holes. A high fire rate weapon is key along with Head Count, Two F4ng, Overlocked, and Furious Attack. The result is a practically guaranteed 50% boost to damage when using The Power Inside.

The other half of the skills are towards health regeneration, survivability, and nudging damage even higher. Beefcake Jabber is a good pet to have for these close quarters fights. All in all, it’s a high-risk, high-reward kind of play.

5 Stronger Shadow Zane

This crazy Zane build is all about letting the clone do most of the work. Which One’s Real ensures enemies stay on the clone, Adrenaline guarantees quicker recasting, while Quick Breather and Schadenfreude keep shields topped off.

The main weapon is grenades via Pocket Full of Grenades, Boom, and Enhance. Not only is it effective at clearing groups but the clone gets massive damage boosts. With Zane’s skills like Synchronicity and Borrowed Time to keep the clone around, its power will actually surpass the player’s on occasion.

4 Doomfist Amara

Doomfist allows Amara to become a brutal tank. Illuminated Fist, Find Your Center, and Blitz combine to give a whopping 275% boost to melee damage. Mindfulness gives a tremendous movement speed bonus to chase down enemies.

The key to survival is Deliverance, Soul Sap, and Ascendant. When combined, these skills enable the player to gain 50% lifesteal, which coupled with the high damage should be more than enough. It’s an aggressive playstyle that throws caution to the wind.

3 Frozen Death Zane

This is a quirky build that provides near invincibility and locks the enemies down with near perma freeze. The key to the build is exploiting the cooldown reset with Calm, Cool, Collected. Zane can keep his health and shield topped off with things like Really Expensive Jacket, Futility Belt, Confident Competence, Adrenaline, and others.

Skills like Best Served Cold, Brain Freeze, and Winter’s Drone ensure enemies stay frozen and won’t touch the player’s shields. Then with the cooldown reset, Zane can trigger a Barrier which with Seein’ Red triggers all kill skills. The effect is near invincibility, enemies are almost always frozen, and auto skill triggers slaughtering everything in sight.

2 One-Punch Woman Amara

This incredibly fun build is ripe for a nerf given how it allows the player to one-shot just about anything on any difficulty that’s including bosses. This isn’t an exaggeration either, with the right setup and specific gear Amara can deal damage in the billions.

The Facepuncher shotgun with pseudo-melee damage is key with an Anointment of 300% damage to enemies with more than 90% health. The White Elephant artifact causes those shots to latch a sticky bomb on the enemy. Amara’s Spiritual Driver will let her spam Phasegrasp for increased damage. Lastly, Groundbreaker will fit it all together. This allows an absurd amount of damage to one punch anything in the game.

1 Perma Invisible FL4K

A ludicrously fun build allows FL4K to be invisible for almost 100% of a battle. Guerillas in the Mist causes the time spent invisible to reset after the third shot. Persistence Hunter lengthens how long invisibility lasts by up to 90% longer with the right Anointment. This causes a considerable window of invisibility for the player.

During this time, Head Count gives a 30% chance of reducing a cooldown by two seconds with every critical hit, which is every shot fired while invisible. The player then needs decent accuracy and a high fire rate weapon to land a little over 100 critical hits to reset the invisibility skill so it can be triggered again before wearing off.
