There are a number of bosses for players to face in Bloodstained Ritual Of The Night. These creatures of the night can pose a serious challenge as players seek to navigate the gothic horror levels and achieve victory.

To help players along, this guide will go over the different bosses found in the game and tips on how to beat them. This will also include the optional bosses and the ones introduced in the DLC.

24 Vepar

It’s important to take out Vepar’s Seama allies to avoid getting overwhelmed and focus attention on her. Her main weaknesses is her head in human form which is easier to attack when she’s using her water beam and when she’s rocking the boat.

23 Zangetsu

Zangetsu is great at dodging and parrying attacks who frequently changes tactics. The best times to attack are when he’s charging his sword or recovering from an attack he’s unleashed. The rest of the time the player should be dodging and evading his attacks, being careful where to jump and watching out for when he teleports.

22 Craftwork

Craftwork moves around a lot so having the Bloodbringer Familiar Shard helps a lot. The platform in the middle of the room helps to dodge and maneuver, though watch out for jump attacks. It’s at its weakest when it hits a wall or when recovering between attacks.

21 Andrealphus

Andrealphus uses a combination of kicks, jumps, and missiles to attack the player. Staying mobile and in its blind spots is key to survival. Mid-range weapons like sword or rapiers help a lot in this fight, but mostly this battle comes down to the player remaining patient and on their toes as there are no great opportunities to attack.

20 Valac

Valac is a two headed dragon that shares HP. Staying between the heads as they move and avoiding their alternating & sometimes joint attacks is key. A ranged method of attack like the Flying Edge or the Va Schia Shard is handy for dishing out damage while keeping distance.

19 Glutton Train

The Glutton Train is a timed encounter in Bloodstained meaning the player has less than five minutes to defeat it. Fortunately the player has Zangetsu to help.

It’s importantly to duck behind this character to avoid the bullet barrage. Otherwise it’s a matter of double jumping over each attack and getting hits in as quickly as possible.

18 Bathin

The key to Bathin is for the player to keep their distance as most of his attacks are close range. His laser wall is clearly telegraphed and easy to avoid. The only real dangers are his grenades and rushes. Having a weapon like Flying Edge helps to keep distance and negate his close-range attacks.

17 Abyssal Guardian

The neck and head of this dragon are its weak spots and during the breath attack becomes a safe spot to avoid damage. The rest of the fight, the player will want to maintain their distance as it swipes and rolls fire. Once again a ranged weapon like Flying Edge helps.

16 Bloodless

Bloodless has an umbrella that’s dangerous at close range, but can leap to the player when they’re too far away. The trick is to maintain a medium distance from her and dodge her Scarlet Thrust & Cyclone attacks that are clearly telegraphed. Occasionally she’ll heal and this is a great time to deal quite a bit of damage to offset the healing. Use the floating umbrellas and door platforms to avoid her blood attacks.

15 Alfred

Alfred throws a lot at Miriam so the player will want to stay mobile. Jumping over him when he throws Ice and Fire vials leaves him open to attack. He’s also vulnerable from behind when summoning ice shards. After drinking potions, he becomes much more difficult and having Flying Edge or guns will be necessary.

14 Doppelganger

The Doppelganger likes to fight up close with ground attacks so jumping around is a solid strategy to avoid damage. Her fire attack is annoying so having the Silver Knight for protection can help. The best time to attack is shortly after a jump attack, where she’s left  vulnerable for a few seconds.

13 Orobas

Orobas is much easier to fight when right side up as the player can stay low and close to dodge all but the body laser attack. When it inverts and fights from the ceiling, the player will need to stay on the move and use ranged attacks.

12 Gebel

Gebel has a dangerous jump slam that should be avoided at all costs. His ice attack is a vulnerable state as the player can jump behind and attack. The lightning attack is another opportunity for the player to get damage in from range. Players will want the Zangetsuto for when the blood moon appears for Bloodstained’s good ending.

11 Valefar

This fight is easy if the player employs a few tricks. For starters, his HP bar is determined by the player’s cash on hand so buying a bunch of things right before will lower his health. In fact, if the player has no money, the fight will end immediately. If the player doesn’t want to part with their cash, using a combination of the Aegis Plate and Invert will make this fight a cakewalk.

10 Gremory

Zangetsuto helps a lot in this fight. Gremory changes tactics as the moon changes so it’s a matter of remembering the changes and accounting for them. The curse projectiles are deadly and inverting helps with the portal attack. Generally speaking, keep a medium distance, attack with ranged weapons, and pay attention to its patterns.

9 Dominique

The player will want lots of recovery items for this tough fight. Dominique is unpredictable as she uses a variety of moves with seemingly few patterns, so quick reflexes are essential here.

The best strategy is to learn what triggers each attack and use that knowledge to open up vulnerabilities to exploit.

8 Bael

The three heads share HP and having a close ranged weapon helps a lot. It’s important to move with the counter-clockwise rotating heads or else the player gets stuck. Purple platforms are to avoid lava before inverting when the ceiling appears. From there, it’s just a matter of swinging away at each head as it passes.

7 Revenant

The player will want to jump over everything Revenant throws at them, except the Axe. Then it’s simply a matter of getting behind Revenant and attacking while it’s stationary.

6 Master Carpenter

This is a long fight thanks to the boss’ large health bar. Having lots of recovery items helps with the war of attrition. His projectiles can be ducked under or jumped over. The key in this battle is to not attack while he’s building a chest. Letting him finish results in a reward, attacking causes Demon Lords to appear.

5 Millionaire’s Bane

The player will want a strong weapon per hit as Millionaire’s Bane moves around a lot and getting hits is hard. The boss telegraphes its attacks when the wheel stops spinning, making damage easy to avoid. Three sevens will kill it instantly, though this is rare.
