Bloodroots is a highly stylized and downright fun game all about taking out as many enemies as possible in the shortest amount of time. The unique gameplay premise here is that the baddies only take one hit for them to die but you also die with one hit as well. This gameplay mechanic makes for quick and frenetic runs through the varied, creative, and vibrant stages.

One of the best parts of Bloodroots is that virtually any aspect of the environment can be picked up to use as a weapon, no matter how silly, bizarre, or ineffective it would be in real life. Bloodroots goes from being a quick action game to a puzzle-type game since you end up having to strategically move through each zone. Trial and error is a big portion of this game mostly down to finding the best weapon to pick up and use.

12 The Wagon Wheel - Just Roll With It

Ah yes, the humble and bizarre wagon wheel, a weapon that can only be picked up upon breaking down the wagon. While it may not seem like a weapon at first, once picked up, it can be used to clear out more than one baddie at a time. It’s strong, dependable, and most importantly, humble.

11 The Wagon - Keep On Moving

The Wagon isn’t so much a picked-up weapon as it is a moving carriage of doom for those that meet its wooden and blunt force. Yes, Bloodroots even has a few select rideable weapons and the wagon is one of them. Mister Wolf is able to hop aboard the wagon and ride it directly into the foes, often taking multiple out at once.

10 Cabbage? Eat Your Greens

While this might seem like a joke, using cabbage as a weapon in a game, it’s most certainly not to be laughed at. The cabbage can be picked up by Mister Wolf from tables and from gardens. The cabbage may be small but it packs quite the leafy punch while letting you stay quick and ready for the next foe.

9 A Humble Ladder - Rise To New Heights

Strewn across many of the environments are ladders. These ladders are not only for accessing the more vertical areas but can also be used as a hulking, spinning weapon.

The ladder is best when used around multiple enemies since it spins around with powerful cyclonic action, taking out each of them with quite the force. Also, it can be used as a ladder.

8 A Raccoon - This Is No Time To Hide

One of the rarer weapons to stumble across is the raccoon hide. Often these are found hanging from cabins, ready to be picked up to give a baddie a furry hit to the face.

This is undoubtedly a strange weapon and can only be used once as opposed to many weapons that can be used three times. However, the raccoon has a good reach and is useful for taking out enemies at mid-range.

7 The Simple Jar - When Is A Door Not A Door?

Thrown weapons are super fun to use in Bloodroots because the lock-on system allows you to throw them from a considerable distance. The jar is filled with a mysterious liquid and will quickly take out any foe.

Often there are multiple jars in one area so if you practice your skills then you can take out multiple enemies at once with the delicate jar.

6 A Carrot - Orange You Glad You Picked It Up

Bloodroots is no stranger to everyday items that you would never expect to use as a one-hit kill weapon. The carrot might be an odd choice, however, considering they hang out all over the place in this game, on tables, in gardens, and lying on the ground.

There certainly is no carrot shortage in this world and although it seems simple, it can very efficiently take out an enemy with one swing.

5 A Fence Post - Break The Competition

The fence post is a weapon that can be found all over the place in Bloodroots. Mister Wolf is able to walk up to any fence to break it apart, giving him multiple fence posts at once.

While the fence post can only be used one time, it makes for an excellent weapon due to its fast swing as well as access to a whole bunch of them at one time.

4 The Super Gold Ax - Wield The Power

The Super Gold Ax might take out enemies with one hit like every other weapon in the game but you will at least look really cool when doing so. The Super Gold Ax is quite rare and is really only found stuck into a tree stump like some sort of legendary lumberjack was gifted the touch of Midas.

This ax is massive and can even take out a couple of enemies at once time with the proper swing.

3 The Rolling Barrel - Time To Balance

The rolling barrel, excuse the pun, is barrels of fun. Surprisingly, the barrels are littered across the stages in Bloodroots. Mister Wolf is able to hop on top of one of these barrels and steamroll his way to victory. When you have had your fill on the barrel, simply jump off and send it hurtling towards a final opponent.

2 The Rifle - A Full Arsenal

Okay, the rifle might be a bit overpowered simply due to the fact that it can be used from range and even has a spread to take out a couple of foes at once. Sure, you might only get a few shots with this gun, but it packs quite the punch.

Considering how hard it can be to stumble across, you are going to want to get your hands on it every chance you get.

1 The Sword - Time To Slice And Dice

The Sword is simply a blast to use in Bloodroots mostly because you can lunge at the enemies and take out up to three at once time. The Sword does take some skill to master, especially the greatsword variant in the later parts of the game. However, nothing beats the feeling of quickly picking up a sword to then run through a bunch of enemies lying in wait for you.
