Bloodborne is an action-adventure game that came out in 2015 by video game studio FromSoftware Games. The studio, as fans know, is famous for creating Demon’s Souls and the Dark Souls franchise. These types of games or Souls-like games, as the community calls them, are incredibly beloved for their notorious difficulty and engaging gameplay.
Bloodborne is no different. In order to combat the punishing enemies in the game better, there is a handful of Hunter Tools you can employ. Each of these tools has its own unique attributes that will allow its users in combat and exploration. One hunter tool may be better than the other, but all of them can be useful depending on the situation.
10 Tiny Tonitrus
The Tiny Tonitrus is a Hunter Tool that allows its user to use the power of lighting. This item is an offensive Hunter Tool. Using it will summon a barrage of lightning strikes in a straight line, allowing you to hit multiple enemies at once.
This Hunter Tool can be found in Yahar’gul, Unseen Village. It is located inside a chest in the same room that houses the Upper Cathedral Key. Using the Tiny Tonitrus will cost you six quicksilver bullets and requires 20 Arcane.
9 Beast Roar
The Beast Roar is an offensive Hunter Tool that allows the user to tap into their monsters from within. It is widely considered a forbidden tool for reasons unknown. Using the tool will give you the ability to roar like a beast, unleashing a powerful shockwave that will knock smaller enemies and stagger large ones.
You can find this item in the Forbidden Woods. It is inside a house near the caged dogs. This path is in the opposite direction of the one you take to head up to Iosefka’s Clinic. It costs two quicksilver bullets to use and requires 15 Arcane.
8 Choir Bell
The Choir Bell is one of the most useful Hunter Tools you can use in the game – whether for PvP or PvE. It proves useful against other online players or the enemies in the game. This Hunter Tool will heal its caster in exchange for seven quicksilver bullets. You’ll need at least 15 Arcane before you can use this item.
Because it requires so many bullets to use, this item should only be used as a last resort when you’ve run out of vials, or if you have a high number of bullets. It is located in the Nightmare of Mensis in a chest through the hole near the Brain of Mensis. It is guarded by a Winter Lantern – one of the most tedious enemies in the game.
7 Executioner’s Gloves
Users of the Executioner’s Gloves will attest to its usefulness and power. When targeting an enemy, activating this offensive Hunter Tool will disperse three arcane orbs which will then track enemies. It is useful in fighting large enemies with specific weak spots.
The Executioner’s Gloves requires 20 Arcane and will cost three quicksilver bullets per use. It is located in Forsaken Cainhurst Castle inside a hidden room accessible when from the outside ledges. You should be able to find it after taking the exit window from the library.
6 Accursed Brew
The Accursed Brew is an offensive Hunter Tool. It has a high Arcane requirement of 30 before you can be able to use it. This Hunter Tool acts like a throwable item similar to a Molotov Cocktail, although its projectile speed is much faster.
The Accursed Brew will cost two quicksilver bullets per use and is located in the Fishing Hamlet. It will be given to you by the Fishing Hamlet Priest – the NPC you encounter at the beginning of the level. He will only give the weapon to you if you have the Milkweed Rune equipped.
5 Madara’s Whistle
The Madara’s Whistle Hunter Tool is the most unique in the game because instead of relying on Arcane, this Hunter Tool focuses on Bloodtinge. Its ability is highly impressive, too. For four quicksilver bullets, the Madara’s Whistle will summon a giant snake that will rise from the ground where it is cast. The snake will then attack those within the vicinity including the caster.
This Hunter Tool is dropped by Younger Madaras Twin. He will spawn in the Forbidden Woods after you’ve progressed through Valtr’s questline by crushing five vermins. Alternatively, Younger Madaras Twin will also spawn if you kill Valtr.
4 Augur Of Ebrietas
The Augur of Ebrietas is one of the most powerful and most handy Hunter Tools in the game. Activating it will summon a portion of Ebrietas which deals substantial damage to the enemy and knocks them down. When timed correctly, it will also stun an enemy, allowing you to perform a visceral attack on them. The same thing applies when the enemy is attacked with this Hunter Tool from behind.
It only costs one quicksilver to activate this Hunter Tool and requires 18 Arcane. The Augor of Ebrietas can be acquired on the 1st floor of the Lecture Building. It is inside a room right of the large auditorium.
3 Old Hunter’ Bone
The Old Hunter Bone will allow its user to be more nimble than ever. When activated, the user will gain the ability of Quickening. The art of Quickening will have the hunter “vanish” whenever performing a dodge. It will also increase the distance of the dodge, as well as reducing the recovery time.
This Hunter Tool is located in the Abandoned Old Workshop. It can be easily spotted resting on a grave just outside the workshop.
2 Blacksky Eye
The Blacksky Eye is an offensive Hunter Tool that’s not only powerful but also has a very cool feature. For a measly single quicksilver bullet, the Hunter Tool will fire an Arcane orb from the user’s right eye. It will fire in a direct straight line at a decent speed, dealing a decent amount of damage.
This hunter Tool is located in the Research Hall on the balcony where you can find a couple of Clocktower Patients praying.
1 A Call Beyond
A Call Beyond is a very powerful Hunter Tool in Bloodborne. Arguably, it is the game’s most powerful, but also more demanding in terms of requirements. For you to use this Hunter Tool, you’ll need to have at least 40 Arcane and each use will cost seven quicksilver bullets.
Many members of the Choir and the School of Mensis love to use this Hunter Tool. It is located in the Lumenflower Gardens in the location just before Ebrietas’ boss room.
