Bloodborne introduced an entirely different tone to the Dark Souls series, starting with a very gloomy and adventurous story, it quickly transforms into one of the strangest world designs in recent times. Taking an abstract page out of Lovecraftian horror, Bloodborne introduces some of the most disturbing characters fans have ever seen.

This has inspired some talented fans to pick up their craft and give the community some disconcerting art that leaves them hungry for more. Whether it’s a creepy landscape or a demented character, these pieces will guarantee to transport players back into the Bloodborne universe and send a chill down some spines.

10 Darkbeast Paarl

A creature players stumble across at the entrance to Yarhar’gul, the electrified undead’s appearance is enough to stick in someone’s memories. It’s size and power make for a daunting opponent, lighting up the otherwise dreary surroundings with its blue voltage.

VictorGarciapq has intensified the experience by focusing on the most unnerving aspect of the experimental creature, its face and surrounding energy. Exemplifying just how much power it holds, the tormented face is a testament to the skill and the terrifying nature of this enemy.

9 Moon Presence

One of the most ethereal creatures in the game, the Moon Presence is the secret boss only those that put in the effort can fight. Ruling over the Hunter’s Dream, a place directly related to the characters’ consciousness. It serves as one of the Great Ones in the game and gives off a powerful tone when it appears.

Orioto’s piece does a great job of not only capturing the eerie figure that is the Moon Presence, but also the strangely calm connection players have with it. Recruiting them in the first place to serve its purpose, the final fight is more of a shock to it than the player.

8 Eileen The Crow

One of the most dangerous kinds of characters, Eileen the Crow is an assassin that can become friend or foe, depending on how the player chooses to act. Her sole purpose is putting out-of-line hunters in their place with her dual wield blades, weapons nobody wants to get on the wrong side of.

Keeping with the anonymous tone Eileen likes to hide behind, Sangrde also makes her feel fleeting. Crows partially marking her passing, the players who stick to the main path will never even see her. Besides, the crows in Bloodborne are nothing to sneeze at either, frequently dulling out jump scares at inopportune times.

7 Blood Party

A perfect example of the absolute melee that Bloodborne can be at times, having to juggle a myriad of enemies at 1 time while clinging onto life. For as many eerie segways that make this game what it is, chaotic battle keeps the fans pinned to the screen and coming back for more.

LiewJJ not only gives us a nice range of characters, it’s also the gory details that make this piece great. From the snarling werewolf faces to the bloody weaponry, it captures the panic-inducing situations that players often find themselves in on their gloomy journey.

6 Amygdala

One of the creepiest variety of creatures that players might run across, Amygdalas not only serve as enemies, but they also come in handy throughout the game. While this makes them useful, most would rather take the inconvenience in place of having to look at them more than once.

They also happen to be one of the more popular variations of Great One, showing just how twisted this universe really is. Shimhaq98’s expressionless figure does more than show its mishmash of features, it even shows the abilities they possess, with otherwordly portals spiraling around its many hands.

5 Ludwig, The Accursed

Serving as the harshest cautionary tale for any of the characters, the sad and disfigured character shows the world what happens when you give in to temptations. Once a respected hunter that served his community, he’s now a horrific monster that attacks blindly.

The river of blood Ludwig stands in is one of his own creations, a stark contrast to the defeated look Memowlery depicted on his face. While it’s easy to write him off as a bad man, his story is as much of a tragedy as anyone’s in Bloodborne, cursed to wander the world a monster.

4 Snatcher

Lurkers that hide their entire faces expect a menacing smirk, Snatchers can also be used as a form of impromptu transportation to the Unseen Village. That or they become a challenging opponent, entering a new level of aggression once the player has some success in battle.

The ghoulish march towards the viewer is exactly what’s needed to create the flight reaction players have in the game. Only the reckless ignore the need to turn the other way, something Mattbarley’s camouflaged characters manage to recreate.

3 Rom, The Vacuous Spider

Another Great One that most could go their entire lives without seeing, Rom the vacuous spider is one of the most repelling characters in the entire game. Not only is she a spider with many giant holes, but it also has an army of arachnid minions helping her out.

Tackling so many phobias all at once, Rom hits the jackpot when it comes to making fans uneasy. OniRuu has made it even more so, giving her the glazed over grey tint to the eyes and surrounding spiders coming in from all sides. A rare talent to be good at uncomfortable, this piece embodies what a lot of Bloodborne loves to revel in.

2 Bloodlicker

From leeches to bats, anything that takes blood has been feared since known memory. The trend hasn’t stopped in Bloodborne, with this flea like creature roaming the barren landscape, the unique enemy has four different stages to worry about. The skinnier it is, the hungrier—not a good sign for hunters who meet up with it.

In true torturous fashion, Ezerafel has given us the worst version of the already terrifying enemy. Starving and alone, this Bloodlicker would attack onsight and likely have to be put down. Keeping the colors to a minimum was a smart choice, as they’re usually found dwelling in some unkept, unlit chamber.

1 Labyrinth Madmen

Broken free of their chains, these undead warriors are not to be played with. Running at alarming speeds and able to inflict a lot of damage, players shouldn’t be fooled by their frail appearance. Both luckily and disturbingly, they can be heard long before they are seen, as they’re constantly shrieking or moaning into the empty night.

MenasLG takes the wailing psycho’s and put it in attack mode, dual sickles at the ready. This might be the last thing players want to see running at them in a dark room, signifying both a hard battle and one of the most unsettling opponents to come up against.
