Awesomenauts developer Romino Games has been on an indie game hot streak between the 2012 multiplayer battle arena and its Sword & Soldiers series. But Romino is ready to do something different with its next game. Introducing Blightbound, a co-op class-based dungeon crawler published by Devolver Digital.
In Blightbound, players will collect and pick from over 20 different unique heroes to play as. Each hero has their own skill-set so they stand apart, as well as a unique story to unravel. Players will progress each of their heroes through looting and crafting, even augmenting their abilities to become stronger. And best yet, through multiplayer three players can bring their heroes into a game to dungeon crawl together.
The Blightbound story revolves around a world where an ancient enemy, the dreaded Shadow Titan, was once defeated by a band of legendary warriors. Except even in death the Shadow Titan’s will lives on. The Blight spreads from the Shadow Titans corpse, twisting any being touched with its corruption. It’s up to Blightbound’s players to push back the Blight.
Perhaps the most exciting news regarding Blightbound is that Romino plans to launch it via Early Access soon. Those interested in the side-scrolling dungeon crawler can wishlist the game on Steam. Expect more information about Blightbound in the weeks to come.
Blightbound releases in Early Access on PC soon.
