Treyarch has just teased weapon tuning for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War that will hit half the weapons in the game. Sniper rifles, assault rifles, light machine guns, and pistols are all getting tweaked next week, although Treyarch didn’t say which direction those adjustments will go.

“We’ve got a new round of weapon tuning coming in next week’s update with adjustments for all sniper rifles, assault rifles, LMGs, and pistols,” wrote Treyarch. They also mentioned that there will be a separate blog post with more details as well as some changes coming to the popular Zombies game mode.

Warzone wasn’t mentioned in Treyarch’s tweet, but that might be because the battle royale game already received several tweaks earlier this week. The CR-56-AMAX, FARA 83, Streetsweeper, Bullfrog, were all nerfed in one way or another, with the CR-56 and FARA 83 getting a 17% increase in their optimal time-to-kill values. The PPSh-41 was the only weapon to receive a buff, which involved a 4% increase in maximum range and a decrease in the time it takes to fire from an open bolt position.

Warzone also received two big updates yesterday. The first was an update to its playlists: Verdansk Mini Royale Quads and Plunder - Blood Money Duos are in, while Plunder Trios and Rebirth Island Mini Royale Quads are out. Resurgence Quads on Rebirth Islands are still in for now at least.

The other big update was a fix to the infinite gas mask bug. Players were able to exploit a glitch that would let them exist in the gas forever thanks to an invincible gas mask, but no longer.

Expect to see the Black Ops Cold War changes arrive on May 20 along with the ‘80s Action Heroes Operator Pack, which will include both Rambo and (almost certainly) John McClane from Die Hard.
