The developers of Black Desert have announced that they are including in-game content based on the popular Netflix series Cursed.
According to Triple Point PR, it’s not entirely clear what the crossover content will look like as the developers have kept it under wraps. In fact, there hasn’t been an official date announced for when the content will make an appearance in the game, though it’s likely to be very soon.
The crossover is meant to be a celebration of the new Netflix original series that premiered on July 17. Cursed is an original take on the medieval fantasy tale of King Arthur and the round table. The story plays out from the perspective of Nimue who is destined to unite Arthur with the powerful Merlin and herself become the Lady of the Lake.
In addition to the upcoming content Pearl Abyss is making the game free to download between July 23rd and August 5th. They have also announced that players who manage to bring a character up to level 50 during that window will be able to keep the game without cost; everyone else will have to pay the standard $9.99 to own the game and retain access to their accounts.
Given the nature of Cursed, fans anticipate that there will be cosmetic items from the characters of the series that their characters can wear in the game. Another possibility is that players will have to contend with Uther and his Red Paladins fighting alongside Nimue, Arthur, and Merlin. But until the developers release more information it’s all speculation.
Whatever the case it is bound to be an interesting change for Black Desert that will be fun for both old and new players. This next week or so seems to be a prime opportunity for players to give the game a try and if they’re diligent enough to keep the game for free if they enjoy it enough.
