Biomutant is set in a reasonably packed open-world with various monsters, a handful of side quests to finish, and a story to discover. Completing the game from start to finish is not an arduous task. The game can be fairly forgiving and accessible and those who want to have a relaxing time and just enjoy a game with gorgeous art direction can undoubtedly do so with Biomutant.
Once the player is done with the game’s main campaign, this doesn’t necessarily mean that they’ve already experienced everything the game has to offer. There are so many more things the player can do after beating Biomutant.
10 New Game Plus
As soon as the game’s credits start rolling, the player is immediately given the chance to jump back into the game from the beginning along with all of the abilities they’ve gained and weapons and armor they’ve earned.
A New Game Plus mechanic is something that’s present in almost every single game and it is something almost every single player looks for when a game ends. If you want to re-experience Biomutant with everything you’ve gained thus far, this is what you can do.
9 Do The Side Quests
Biomutant, being an open-world RPG, has a lot of side quests for the players to explore. If you haven’t done most of the game’s side quests yet, this is the perfect time to do so. The side quests have some of the game’s best rewards.
A lot of these quests function similarly to how the main quests run, so their essence and repetition should already seem familiar to you. However, the greatest thing about the side quests are the mechanics and systems you’ll learn and earn you never knew the game offered.
8 Keep Exploring
The map of Biomutant is not the largest in recent open-world titles. However, that doesn’t mean there aren’t things for you to explore. There are a handful of things for you to discover just by roaming around with your mount or Googlide.
By exploring, you’ll get the chance to meet more NPCs, fight more mini-bosses, and discover more vaults. You may even pick more bio points and psi-points for your upgrades and mutations.
7 Collect And Craft More Weapons
There is an abundance of weapons and crafting materials in Biomutant that you can loot and earn as rewards. If you want your character to be even more powerful than ever, this is something you can do.
While the best time to do this is before the game’s ending, you can still collect the game’s weapon before heading into New Game Plus. That way, you’ll be jumping right back into the game with the most powerful weapon that fits your build.
6 Do The Other Ending
There are two endings in Biomutant for you to discover, one for each Aura side. If you’ve spent the game making Light Aura choices, you’ll get the “good” ending. Otherwise, you’ll get the “bad” ending.
While there’s not much difference between the two endings, there is a complete shift in various character interactions and psi-powers you can earn if you play while leaning towards a different Aura side. If you’ve played your first playthrough making Light choices, you can do another one where you’ll only make Dark choices.
5 Side With Other Tribes
There are a total of six tribes in Biomutant. While the progression of the game will remain considerably similar regardless of which tribe you’ll ally yourself with, there is a change in tribe weapon and armor rewards. Besides, it’s fun to get the chance to go to war with another rival tribe.
Every single tribe in Biomutant comes with their own tribe weapon and tribe outfit. The only way to earn the latter is by joining the tribe. If there’s a specific tribe outfit you want to earn, do your next playthrough allied with that tribe.
4 Do Another Build
One of the greatest things about Biomutant is how it allows players to employ their own playstyle and still be incredibly effective and powerful in the game. If you prefer a melee build, you can absolutely do so. If you prefer a ranged build, you can also do so without compromises to power. You can also function as a mage build if you want to.
This is where the game’s replayability value rises. You can replay the game by trying out another build. There are powerful melee weapons for melee builds, powerful guns for ranged builds, and incredible abilities for mage builds in this game. No build is compromised.
3 Try Another Class
There are a total of six classes in Biomutant—Dead-Eye, Sentinel, Commando, Psi-Freak, Saboteur, and Mercenary. Each class comes with its own dedicated perks and advantages in stats. Each also has distinct functions you may already be familiar with if you’ve played a lot of RPG titles.
For example, Sentinels are mainly tanks. Saboteurs employ mobility and speed. Psi-Freaks make more use of powers and genetic mutations. If you want to experience something new while exploring the game, try playing with a different class.
2 Play In A Higher Difficulty
Biomutant is not a difficult game unless you make it so. The game only has three difficulty options: Easy, Medium, and Hard. If you’ve played the game with the first two difficulty options, you can try another run on Hard.
During a Hard difficulty playthrough, enemies are much more resilient and powerful. This is where your skills will really be challenged if you are up for it.
1 Play A Game From The Same Genre
After you’ve exhausted Biomutant to oblivion and still want more of the same, there is a myriad of games that are under the same genre for you to explore. Biomutant itself, according to the developer, is inspired by countless other recognizable titles. You can go ahead and play those if you haven’t already.
The game is apparently inspired by games such as Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Devil May Cry, Batman: Arkham series, among others. All of these games are very popular and positively received. Go ahead and give them a go.
