The Biden-Harris campaign released political artwork and yard signs for the global smash hit, Animal Crossing: New Horizons. The global pandemic has changed the way we approach education, healthcare, gaming, and apparently, political campaigning. In a shrewd move that shows an awareness of where many Americans have spent their last several months, the Biden-Harris campaign has moved away from in-person rallies and towards virtual town halls, and now, the virtual campaign trail.

Physical yard signs are so last election, and it’s the rare to even look at another house in 2020. Adventuring to other people’s Animal Crossing islands is way easier, and yet, until today, in-game political attire has mostly been MAGA hats. Today, the official Biden-Harris campaign launched these digital designs which allows users to show their support for the Democratic candidates.

Adding the artwork to your island is fairly straightforward. First, download the Nintendo Switch app for your smartphone. From there, log in to your Nintendo Online account, and navigate to your games specific section. Select Animal Crossing: New Horizons, and then pick Designs, and choose to scan a QR code. (If you haven’t done so already, you will need to link your nook phone to your real phone. A complete guide to doing so can be found here.) The below codes can then be used to download your very own Biden-Harris campaign artwork. In game, navigate to the custom designs section of your nook phone, press the plus button, and download artwork (ignore the 3DS warnings). Remember, only one can be downloaded at a time.

In the video above, you can enjoy each of the four campaign signs displayed, as well as download the QR codes at the end of the video. Alternatively, below each are displayed for your viewing pleasure.

First is a fairly standard Biden-Harris design that closely resembles all of the current campaign signs and slogans. There’s also a simple Team Joe poster.

The latter two get more creative, with Biden’s signature aviators in a quasi retro gaming theme and a Joe Pride poster.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is becoming quite the social hub. For months, people have used it for birthdays, graduations, and even work meetings. So, despite being a touchy subject, it makes some sense to see political campaigning enter the game.
