Overcooked! 2 is a hectic cooperative multiplayer game that will quickly get a group of friends screaming at each other. You wouldn’t think a cooking-based game would be so stressful, but Overcooked! and its sequel proved everyone wrong.
Despite its chaos, it is addicting. It is fun for groups to come up with strategies for each new and crazier level. If you and your friends are looking to have more adventures similar to Overcooked! 2, here are some games that are similar and have great reviews from players and critics alike.
Updated, May 5, 2022, by Jessica Filby: Overcooked! 2 continues to take the gaming world by storm. However, there comes a time when playing the same game over and over gets a little tedious and you find that you and your friends are looking for something new for a while. Luckily there are plenty of games that will bring the same kind of humor, chaos, and style to your sessions. So, if you’re looking for the same chaotic multiplayer experience, look no further than some of these wonderful games.
25 Joggernauts
Joggernauts is colorful, chaotic, and extremely fun to play with friends. It’s essentially an exciting auto-runner combined with quick puzzles for you and other players to try to get through without losing anyone, or the game entirely.
What’s particularly interesting about this game is that it requires the team to work together, similarly to Overcooked! 2. You’ll more than likely have a similar screaming match with your friends as you frantically try to get in the right place at the right time while still cooperating in every sense of the word.
24 Death Squared
Taking puzzle platforming to a new level, Death Squared is undeniably a game like Overcooked! 2, in the sense that it’s got a wonderful art style and forces everyone to work together. Either way, this is a great game to enjoy with up to four friends as you play as cute little robots who try to solve each puzzle without exploding or falling off the platforms.
In the same way as Overcooked! 2 is all about communication, Death Squared requires careful conversation, observation, and teamwork. It’s hilariously fun while still being just as frustrating as the games you know and love.
23 Conduct Together!
Combining Overcooked! 2 with Human Fall Flat, and Unrailed, this is the perfect game for anyone dreaming of becoming a train conductor. Or for those who just like causing chaos to the world around them.
You and a friend play as train conductors who are required to switch tracks and control the trainline as a whole to avoid any deadly collisions. It may seem simple but this gets extremely busy and chaotic with its unforgiving gameplay. It’s a great game to play as a couple or with three other friends, but there may be some chaos involved throughout.
22 Catastronauts
Catastronauts is particularly reminiscent of Among Us and Overcooked! 2. It’s set on a spaceship where you and your friends need to keep the ship going long enough to destroy the enemy.
It involves working together to repair the ship, avoiding attacks, and counter-attacking when you can. All that may seem fun but it’s the way the game handles working as a team that sets it above anything else. You can both destroy and clone your teammates during the game, making it ideal for that one chaotic player who loves annoying their friends.
21 Cake Bash
When it comes to multiplayer games, many love working together and trying to solve puzzles or stay alive with the help of their friends. This is absolutely not that. Instead, it’s a free-for-all chaotic arcade-style game where you fight to be the best cake in the game.
It involves various games, so it’s not just fighting all the time, and brings in everyone’s skillsets at some point. This versatility makes it a thoroughly enjoyable game that you and your friends can play for hours on end.
20 What The Golf?
What the Golf? is an unpredictable game. Its minigames are fast-paced, nonsensical, and hilarious in their physics. Despite having “golf” in the name, What the Golf? is not a golf game. What it has in common with golf is that most of the minigames are about getting an object from point A to point B, and that is it.
Like Overcooked! 2, What the Golf? is chaotic and requires quick thinking. Its cutesy art style is also somewhat similar, with player avatars ranging from a burger bird to a hockey dog.
19 Cook, Serve, Delicious! 3?!
The third game is the cooking management series from Vertigo Gaming Inc., CSD3 has everything great about the previous titles and more. This includes both local and online multiplayer through remote play. The game is a fast-paced simulation of the foodservice experience, dealing with rush hour madness and impatient customers. It’s equal parts stressful and exhilarating.
The chaotic part comes from trying to divide work with another person while still keeping on top of everything. For duos aiming for perfection, it can be a struggle to make it through levels. However, when everything aligns, few games are more satisfying.
18 Snipperclips
For a more relaxed experience, the Nintendo Switch co-op launch title Snipperclips delivers something close to zen. Two players have to work together to solve logic puzzles by snipping each other’s paper bodies. It’s a simple concept used in several creative ways that are thoroughly engaging through its runtime.
While not the most chaotic game, it still offers that similar thrill of getting mildly frustrated at your partner for little things. Feel free to get angry, it’s more fun that way.
17 Clubhouse Games: 51 Worldwide Classics
What’s better than one game to get angry at another player about? How about 51 classic games to create chaotic anger? Whether they be games of luck, skill, or a combination of both, Clubhouse Games offers experiences for every kind of player to enjoy in a cute little package.
While the other games on this list offer a new kind of multiplayer frustration, Clubhouse Games goes back to the roots. Nothing is more frustrating than having to draw endless cards in Last Card or getting bodied in Four-In-A-Row. And that’s wonderful.
16 Among Us
Mafia is a classic party game that pits friends against friends in a battle to uncover hidden adversaries. This concept has been iterated countless times, and it is almost always a blast, and Among Us, may be one of the most interesting yet.
The game keeps the normal Mafia gameplay loop fresh by offering tasks for you to fulfill. There are so many ways to sabotage and murder the other crew members, and the deliberation can get intense. This game is sure to strain (and later strengthen) any friendships.
15 Fall Guys
Of course, Fall Guys gets a nod. The hottest gaming craze from Mediatronic has gained incredible traction over the summer of 2020. 60 bean-like people compete in challenges right out of Wipeout! in a quest to get the crown at the end. It’s simple and a tad limited right now, but it is endlessly fun.
Parties may be limited to just a small squad in a sea of beans, but it’s still fun to compete and cooperate with friends. The game is fun enough that losing and winning are equally as exciting. Definitely a game to check out given the chance.
14 Tools Up!
Released in 2019, Tools Up! has a ton in common with Overcooked! 2. It is meant to play as a local co-op and utilize teamwork skills within a time limit. Instead of cooking through, the game is all about renovating houses. Just like Overcooked! 2, there is plenty of environmental chaos. For example, one level can have a home surrounded by lava. Also, the game is meant for four players.
The only downside is the lack of an online co-op mode. For now, it is only local.
13 Pummel Party
Released in 2018, Pummel Party is a game all about using absurd weapons and objects against your friends. It is a four to eight-player game, so be sure that you have plenty of friends for this one.
Like Overcooked! 2, it can get you and your friends screaming at each other. The game is available on Steam.
12 Castle Crashers
This 2D arcade adventure game has overwhelmingly positive reviews. Like Overcooked! 2, it offers gameplay for four friends. You get to defend your kingdom, save princesses, and crash castles together.
It likes quirky and cute humor, in a similar sense to Overcooked! 2. There are also tons of unlockables to keep you and your friends busy. It is available for the PS3, PS4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and Windows.
11 WarioWare: Get It Together!
Recently released for the Nintendo Switch, WarioWare: Get it Together! is a quirky collection of fast-paced and wild minigames. There are a ton of these minigames too, counting over 200. You also control far more than Wario. There are a lot of characters, each with their own unique abilities. The minigames are as nonsensical as they come, from dodging pigeon dung to rocking a baby to sleep.
Story-mode can host one to two players while the variety pack can host up to four. There is also an online game mode called Wario Cup.
10 Human: Fall Flat
This charming game will have you laughing due to its difficult controls. This is because the controls themselves are the puzzle, as your right and left hands move individually. That makes it easy to mess up the most simple of tasks, which is some slapstick perfection.
While you can play single player, the co-op is the best.
9 Moving Out
Released in 2020, Moving Out is a goofy physics co-op game. You and up to three friends work to move furniture out of a building and into a truck. Among its similarities to Overcooked 2! is its crazy environmental hazards. You will be moving furniture around places with potholes, pools, and conveyor belts.
Even the playable characters are like those in Overcooked! 2, ranging from humans to lizards and even potted plants.
8 Keep Talking And Nobody Explodes
Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes plays out a scenario where one friend has the bomb and all the others have the instruction manual. In other words, you and your friends are going to put your communication skills to the ultimate test.
It is the perfect game to play with your friends over the phone and like Overcooked 2!, there will likely be a lot of screaming.
7 Unrailed!
Of all the games on this list, Unrailed! is one of the most similar to Overcooked! 2’s gameplay. You need to cooperate and coordinate with your friends to build a track for an ongoing train and make sure that it does not derail in the process.
There is no single-player mode, so be sure that you have friends for this one.
6 Space Food Truck
While Space Food Truck is not alike to Overcooked! 2 in terms of its gameplay, it is similar in terms of being a co-op game centered on culinary themes. One to four players take the roles of space gourmets, and their goal is to collect ingredients and recipes while exploring outer space.
In terms of gameplay, Space Food Truck is about deck building. Every player is also assigned a role, ranging from captain and chef to engineer and scientist.
