A piano is coming to the Nintendo Switch this week. There are probably a few Switch users who reckon setting the Nintendo Labo piano up is just too much work and, if you’re one of them, then a simpler option is on the way.
The new software, simply called Piano, is for kids and adults alike and allows users to transform their switch into a musical instrument that can be taken anywhere. It will also serve as a tool that facilitates the learning of one’s favorite songs. It comes with a free play mode in which users can play whatever they want to, as well as nine tutorials of classic songs for beginners.
Nintendo’s official website lists Piano as a “Piano is the fun way for anyone to start learning to play the piano and improve one’s hand-eye coordination.”
The app will teach players songs by highlighting the keys that are supposed to be depressed. “You will be surprised how easy it is to play something that sounds so amazing so quick,” the description also states.
There’s no footage of the software in action but it appears to be best suited to aspiring pianists and not learned musicians.
It launches this Friday - May 15 - for $9.99 and only requires 67MB for installation. Piano can be played via TV, handheld mode, or tabletop.
