Spirit Sprint is out now on mobile, in case you were looking for a fun and pretty running game.

From Croatian developer Delta Reality comes Spirit Sprint, a game where you take on the roll of a nature spirit that’s trying to make its way to freedom. This is a bit of a departure for Delta Reality as they typically focus their efforts on virtual reality games and applications, but VR is expensive and mobile games are cheap moneymakers. You can’t really blame them for wanting a quick buck.

And you could do worse than Spirit Sprint. The game features some great visuals, a dynamic soundtrack, and constantly shifting colors. Your spirit also keeps changing, going from fox to pig to hummingbird to fish. Throw in a bit of raccoon, duck, bat, and hammerhead shark, and you’re basically a running/swimming/flying menagerie.

The objective of Spirit Sprint is the same as most runners, which is to run through various locales while picking up powerups and collectibles. Coins are your main currency to unlocking in-game stuff like powerups and cosmetics, but there are in-app purchases as well. Environments include meadows, ravines, rivers, seas, beaches, and caves that are filled with obstacles like bear traps, arrows, and beehives.

Spirit Sprint’s controls change depending on what animal you happen to be at the time. Terrestrial mammals will tap once to hop and tap twice to double jump, while swimming creatures will tap and hold to ascend and release to descend. Flying creatures have Flappy Bird controls, with each tap corresponding to a flap of your wings.

You can get Spirit Sprint on iOS and Android now. Check out the trailer above to see what’s in store.
